I would like to explain the look on my arrow, as you can tell there is some guts on it. Entry point was through the right shoulder, it exited in front of the left rear leg. Luckily he died within sight of me and it was all over in about 45 seconds. I let the thrill of the hunt get to me yesterday, I should have let him move a few more yards and have less of a quarter to shot. So yes, I technically gut shot him, but luckily it started in the heart/lungs area first. Side note, those Muzzy's do not seem to have any trouble getting through a shoulder bone. And my wife said I killed Elliot from the movie Open Season....
I had one of the best days ever this morning. Had a heavy 135-140 8 point come in beside me and bed down with a Doe just in the edge of the thicket i was beside. 3 hrs worth. Seen a giant frame buck about 80 yards behind me and had a 150" 10 point chase a Doe Doe right past me doing 100 mph. Had 4 smaller Bucks in and out all day. Another Doe ruined my hopes of the bedded Buck, she came in under me and the Doe he was bedded with didnt like it and marched him deeper i to the thicket. I hunted till 3:30 pm then the rain came, had to quit because of the camera. So so close!
Sounds like a blast crick! Keep on them, deer should be running all over this week. I'll be behind a camera the rest of the week, can't wait.

Exit hole Not that it counts for our score, just figured I'd share with you guys. Short story, I was playing with my phone and didn't hear or see her come in. I know, leave the phone alone. She seemed spooky but she walked around for a few minutes, and came 10 yards downwind of me, she smelled something but didn't bust me, she had looked at me but never spooked, I thought I was going to get busted. She came to back side of tree and I (insert catchphrase here), she took off about 30 yards and stopped, then I saw the butt start to wiggle and she hit the dirt, all within sight. Im getting spoiled watching them drop in sight. I'm doing good on freezer meat now, it's only me an the wife eating them. Good job guys. It's unusually slow around here. So far all I've seen in stand is one doe, 50 yards away, behind a bush. Had a huge coyote come in I got drawn back but I had to wait til it passed a tree and it was moving way too fast, it busted me while trying to get my pin on it and it was gone. Sucks too, that was a darn big coyote. Tomorrow morning the kids have a veterans day program... after that it's nothing but hunting the rest of the week. Some waterfowl too, but mostly deer. Wednesday and thrusday are supposed to drop down to the 20s in the morning with a high of 40... it's on!
sorry I haven't been around. working a lot and family taking up most my time. I have been out a few times trying to get a doe. figures when I need one I cant get a good opportunity. I usually take 2 a year. I see my buck score isn't up do to not putting down the measurements. ill try to get then posted soon. good luck to everyone and congratulation to the guys that have connected.

Hey guys havent checked in for awhile! I did shoot a Buck yesterday and havent got it scored or posted yet! Im having some issues with a disc in my neck and was not going to get to hunt much more, wearing a pack and harness has aggravated the heck out of it. Im going to opt for surgery soon.
