Hunt recap. 9 deer in total 2 bucks a 7 and an 8 both breaking 110. Nj is earn a buck so I need to shoot a doe first. Pissed me off because I had broadside shots on both deer for 20 minutes. Last 2 deer were a doe and fawn. Had a shot at the doe but the fawn still had spots and she looked like she was injured by a coyote. Had a limp. Passed up the shot because there is no way she would survive without her mom.
Well this makes me feel dumb, put all my work in one area and didn't do anything at this other property, found 14 scrapes, poop and tracks everywhere. I know where I'll be from now on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ha, hopefully this weekend I'll make it out. Not making any promises. The first few weeks of October here are nutso busy.
I put out a mock scrape 2 weeks ago. checked cam over it yesterday and had over 240 vids over it. Got 4 Bucks, three are very regular. BUT the three regulars are just under shooter status, the forth was a lil guy have shed velvet. Ill try and get some of the vids uploaded this evening!
Just got back from GA, seen 5 deer, had two spikes within 20yrds of me, a small 6pt and a doe come in together but the doe was too far away. Then had a big buck at about 100yrds and only seen him for a couple seconds. Gonna hunt FL when I can then I go back up to GA at the end of October!
Happy Opening Day!!! I am here at my desk working on presentations. I'm hoping I get to hunt this weekend but it's looking rather unlikely. Sucks because there's a big cold front coming through this weekend dropping the temp to 39
Was a long weekend for me, work wise, as I work for Dover Speedway and NASCAR was in town. hoping to bust out of work early today for a sit. Have off Thursday and Friday but have all day thing Thursday and Friday I'm heading to Orioles playoff game. Will be out all day Saturday. Feel bad I haven't contributed to the team yet!!
Im planning on going out this saturday. In my area we are looking to have a low of 38 degrees in the evening! I know there is a mature buck on this property and with the cold front Im hoping to stick him. Wish me luck!
I'll be out again this Saturday. Earn a buck is over this Friday so on Saturday it's open season on bucks! At least 8 mature deer over 110 on my property and I'm hoping to Stick one! Yup, I volunteered though. I'm hoping to go out to the new farm after. I haven't even seen it yet. Should be lots and hopefully big deer on it.
It should be out of our area for the weekend. Or at least be tolerable. It's looking like I'll be able to make it out Sunday morning if I can find a good spot. Push come to shove I'll hunt at the house but I really didn't want to do that this year.
