I got a antlerless deer on the scoreboard!

 

Good work getting points on the board early guys. I'm still waiting on opening weekend, which I probably won't go on haha.
The first weekend in October isn't that good tyipcally. I may go out just to get warmed up though.

Tried getting out this past weekend but with the wind and the rain I chose to stay safe and dry and stayed home. It's a long season.

 

Leave tomorrow for my lease in GA, hope to put one down!

Going out again on Saturday and Sunday

 

Saturday is opener for me. Yippee!

 

Saturday is our youth weekend. I really need to get my clothes washed this weekend.
I'm going to try and get out next weekend but we'll see. The next few weeks are busy for me, then hunting season really ramps up quickly.

 

I wont get out till the 4 th but it openes the first. Getting stuff ready in mean time. I have been shooting alot in the last month though to stay sharp! The trees are showing some color change now

5 does in the first hour. Pretty confident. None gave me a shot. All over 50 yards.

 

I'm out, nothing to report though.

I'm in stand, set up adjacent to bedding and corn. Had 4 does through a bit ago, could have taken the first doe through but wanted the bigger second doe, shot opportunity didn't present itself. Morning is still young though.

Pretty sure one snuck by me, never saw it just heard some loud sniffing, seemed like it was on a mission to get somewhere. Cleared some better shooting lanes, smoking my gear again and I'll see y'all in the morning.

A good but uneventful opening day. 1 doe 2 fawns and three young bucks.

Didn't get much done today but I'll give it hell tomorrow.
