Good luck let us know how you guys make out!! I think I will do some striper fishing Monday! No hunting season here yet!!
I hope he keeps doing this. I have a treestand 25 yards from him. The pics I get from this camera are usually of them not up close, but don't want to risk pushing them by moving the cam closer. I had around 10 different bucks walking this trail over about a 2 week period. I know 2 are shooters and maybe one other.
Some of the other better pics. The one with the big brows is from a previous pull, I think that is the one in the above post. There is one bigger than him, but I would like to get him. 0500_zpsd9edabdb.jpg.html][/URL]
Britney and I got out late due to work. The wind was marginal. We got too close when we setup. We watch the buck get up and run off. He wasn't bedding where I thought he would be. There is a reason that old SOB has survived many, many hunting season!!!! He is a toughie to hunt. We will go after the other big one tonight. Wind is right and we should get in without busting anything. I hope !!!!!
We made it out this evening. Pretty quiet. We packed up and left at almost last light. We got about 150 yards away from our spot when I looked back and could see a deer walk right where we had been. I could barely make out that he had a rack in the waning light. No idea how big he was but it would have been great if he would have gotten there 10 minutes earlier. It would have been a 10 yard shot if he would have been a good buck. Tim
Hello there fellas, just wanted to stop in and say good luck this season. Hunt hard and above all HUNT SAFE!
I must say I am a little jealous!! Wish my season was in! It was 49 degrees when I got up yesterday morning and I went fishing. Feels like I should be heading for a tree not the boat!! Lol!! Good luck hope you get on them!
Good luck on the hunts and plots. I gotta go check out my last heartbeat and rye plot one of these days and move two cams as soon as I remember to grab batteries again. Less than two weeks to go. Sure can't come soon enough. Shooting has been good, usually some each day. Few more loose ends to tie up but definitely ready to go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Morning hunt was a blast. Had 4 bucks come in and the only one that was big enough to shoot was the one I never had a shot at. Had him as close as 15 yards and needed him to go another 8 yards to my right to hit my shooting lane. Suspect he would gross 135 - 140 and looked great in velvet. One of the smaller bucks had velvet hanging off his rack and it was driving him batty flopping in his face. Got a good chuckle out of watching him. Great morning except the skeeters were nuts !!! Why they were put on this earth, I will never know. Miserable things !!!!!!! Tim
Plot is looking good. Picture doesn't do it justice, I took it from the weak spot of it all. Should do well this season, which I'm impressed with since it was all brush and grown in at the start of this summer. Checked out some public land to hunt today too. Very good potential there. Contemplated leaving a cam, might later. Not sure if I'll chance it. Checked one cam and moved it on the field edge. Was glad to see my 9 came through again. Where it's set now it'll cover more trails/access to the field so should have some more action. Should be pulling that one Friday before opener to see if it'll be where I sit first. Otherwise got a few practice shots in. Just gotta practice my fist pumps while screaming "I smoked him" and get my clothes washed and aired out as finishing touches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
