Not sure if I will get out Friday afternoon for bow opener but should have this weekend off !! Let the games begin !!!!! Tim
Like the design. It's been lil warmer here the past week or so, so my cams have been slower than usual. Hopefully it cools down by the 6th or my KY tag may have to wait.
Hey guys..........pretty busy time of year for me and it always takes me by surprise how early they get this thing rolling. My season doesn't start until Oct 1st. Our food plots are coming along very nicely and we put up a crap load of new stands for this year so plenty of new ambush opportunities. Cams have been OK but not great so far........never been a great indicator for us. Time to find my bow case I guess
Looks like we have a full team now !! Got a few more pictures of different bucks then what I have posted before. He doesn't like coon.... wide... and the best for last... Tim
Checked my two cams out deep. Had a few deer passing the one, every pic the head was in the brush so couldn't see any rack. Other just had pics of leaves moving and the rear of one passing by. Both cams only had enough battery when I got to them to turn on then went off. Not too happy about that, I'm 99% sure two weeks ago when I put them out one had brand new and the other were over 3/4. I don't have them taking thousands of pics and nothing fancy for settings. I'm gonna have to try adjusting settings and see how they go. Both have been replaced less than a year ago so hoping this isn't starting again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't feel bad, I stopped getting bucks on my camera for a week so I decided to move the camera about 100 yards away. The new spot I wasn't expecting to see many bucks and as expected I got all does and fawns. I haven't had a chance to move it again and I am late getting a fall honey hole food plot planted so now I'm not sure how often these bucks are even coming around anymore.
I hate when that happens. You build up the excitement of checking your cams and for some reason they didn't take pics. For me, I sift through thousands of pictures of cows to find my deer pics. My "serious" hunting spot is a buck cruising corridor and doesn't produce many good camera pics until late October. In fact, 50% of the bucks I see for the first time in the stand.
I'm just hoping the cams haven't crapped out on me again. The one is a covert and was replaced once and the trophycam is on it's third in under 2 years. I think the trophycam was exactly one year ago today for one of the times it gave up working. I'm gonna get more batteries and try again on a plot that's close so I don't have to venture out like that again to find that. Dead batteries 300 yards from home doesn't quite sting so bad and can check it more often where it'll be without really worrying about intruding much. I've got a few of the usual bucks out that I've been seeing by binocs or handycam got a few. One basket 8, the other nice not huge 8, and there was a third I couldn't count the other day but was decent like them. Had a few new 6's on one other cam again on that spot too. Still pretty good potential of sending an arrow first afternoon sit, which will be second day of season, a buddy pulled a great move with a wedding on opener... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I checked my one plot with rye and monster raxx last heartbeat, and she's looking nice and green. I'm looking forward to how that goes especially later season. Should work out to a good season Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hope your plot is doing good! I planted mine last Saturday with t-storms in the forecast all week and I never got a drop of rain!
Dont you hate that! Mine is a clover plot from last fall but was really starting to brown up. I'll get a pic tomorrow if I do make it out there.
Checked cameras and sunflowers last night and moved one camera. Still have 2 shooters showing up during daylight in the morning. The biggest thing I discovered yesterday was that the acorns are falling. The one camera we moved between mature oaks and water to take inventory. Will post some pics later, but they are not the best pics.
Good Morning Gentlemen! Looking forward to the dove opener on Monday! We planted some sun flowers and will hunting over them! Sorry for being MIA this week. It has been one of those weeks at work and I am really looking forward to the weekend!
I will be out most of Monday dove hunting too. I can't wait to watch the sunrise and then start to hunt for the first time of the year.
