Was out tonight. Started out with a great move of dropping my quiver when I was set, leaving me with my one arrow in hand. No huge deal. Apparently grouse love Raxx factor plots. Had 6 last night spook up when I was getting into my other stand over that, and 5 more tonight on this stand over some. Then Had a nice little 5 standing broadside 13 yards for ten min. I haven't killed with my recurve yet so I was thinking like a single guy at last call at the bar, Would take anything available. Then heard crunching behind me. Waited figuring it very well coulda been better. The 5 walked away casually and the crunching came closer. And turned out to be a stupid grouse. Probably for the best not shooting, hopefully. Been seeing quite a few deer on their feet moving around. This is the sad part of the year when day light savings time prevents me from hunting after work anymore. I am strictly on weekend duty now. Hoping to rattle up some business this weekend tho!
I am in Disney and all the wildlife here are taunting me!! Everything I would be trying to put an arrow through back home have been within 10 yards of me here!! Lol!! Don't want to rush my family vacation but I can't wait to get back in the woods!!

Sitting over my plot this morning. Two new shooters started hitting my scrape this past weekend. Only little guys during the day so far.
Thanks! It stretches another 30 yards to the right of the picture. In that picture is a mock scrape I set up in September. After religiously adding BF forehead gland an occasional pee, they started hammering it last week. Had picture of at least 6 different bucks and a few different does using it. I'm back at work now but did see a doe, small 6 and a small 8 this morning.
Had a spike skirt the edge of my plot and could just see him lock up with another buck in a smaller plot just further over. And two tails off the field. The most excitement was getting hit with a spotlight from accross as I came off the field. Not very happy about that. Well I am off work for a week now. My wife and my wedding anniversary is tomorrow. Sadly for her... she has to work and will be working late so it looks like I will be hunting all day. It will cost me from hunting on Saturday so I can spend a day with her to make up for her having to work but she is well worth it. I worked in a trip to Cabelas Saturday so I could get Britney some good winter pac boots for hunting. Should be a fun day for all of us except my wallet. Our rifle season starts Saturday but Britney and I are planning on bow hunting it anyways. I found a few good... safe spots to take Britney to if the wind cooperates. I plan on hitting it hard by myself the next 2 days and get a morning hunt in with Britney on Friday morning since she doesn't have school. She also has Monday and Tuesday off and the main agenda is to get her on a good buck before all the rifle hunters either kill them or scare them into hiding all day. Hopefully one of us connects on a good buck. Tim
Checked cams today. Nothing too exciting. Did see a nice 6 come in in front of the stand I was sitting the three nights, he was under 10 min behind me leaving. Decided to try some scent I had luck with my first year rifle hunting. I'm gonna see if anything gets moving with that. Otherwise gun opens Saturday and I picked up a license. Whichever I decide to use will be pending what I see on cam. Still shooting for bow, but if things work out in certain spots for rifle I may opt for that too. Just having options open. Shoulder kinda moved and popped funny on me yesterday and it kinda scared me, but then improved in a few Movements and areas. Might try my compound again today or tomorrow for some shooting and see. Really quiet here. So far with 2 days of hunting only a spike and a really short tined 5x5 in bow range. Nothing is moving until dark and back to bed before light. I am hunting some great spots but unless the deer start moving while it light... it is going to be slow. Tim
1 more day of work for me then 11 straight days of hunting. Its been a rough stretch at work and I'll be looking forward to doing nothing but sitting in a tree. Doesn't sound like I'm too far behind on the action yet
Working hard this morning to get my yard work done. Predicted snow for tonight until Tuesday afternoon for Central - Southern MN. Predictions are anywhere from 4-12 inches of snow coming with highs in the lower 20s the next 5 days. I will be hunting over my food plot tonight in hopes of them hammering it before the system moves in.
Bad year here boys. Neighbors are retarded and our place is all messed up. Got one idiot building a barn and running heavy equipment through the woods all day and another moron that decided November was a good time to have his place surveyed. We have pics of workers walking all over our land for some reason and multiple screaming matches teetering on fist fights have filled the season so far. So much time and hard work invested to be destroyed by ignorant selfish fools. I hate people some times. I also passed a 120-130" buck we call sticker early on which in hindsight was a big mistake. I have morons sighting in rifles all morning as I type this from my stand. Hope your years are better.
