Checked two cams today. One with just a doe a few times and the other one had some does and the smaller 8 from first few nights coming back. He's getting a little closer to daylight hours again so must be settling after me being out and around the two hunts. Still not going to get out yet. Hoping if we get a chill soon it'll push timelines up some. Too many projects I'm trying to get done before winter to spend many sits when there's nothing coming through during shooting light. Got my mind kinda preoccupied with some other news too. Good luck with everyone else still, looking forward to some action Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ok boys. Finally got into a stand for first time this year. Then have been showing up regularly here so we will see what happens. Stay tuned.
I'll be out next weekend. This will be the first year I've missed opening day of bow season in a long time. Once my son is born (induction scheduled for Tuesday and he's already overdue) so I will be out next weekend to kick off my season.
Well the other night did not goes as planned. It was a lil to warm then about 30min into the hunt the guys that work on the oil wells came in and worked on one that was about 150 yards from me. Ended up not seeing anything. We open up in IN Wed so that's the next time I'll be out.
It's been a heatwave lately here so haven't got out any and haven't seen anything taking a look out anyway. Mon and tues are supposed to get down almost 30 degrees from yesterday and today and I think fri and sat will be colder yet. Hoping that gets something up and moving. Possibly might get out Tuesday if cams look good or one of the other days. Otherwise just doing other stuff in this summer weather Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well, my son is here so next weekend it's game time! Ryan Douglas was born yesterday at 2:03 pm and weighs 9 pounds and 5 ounces and is 21 inches long. He and my wife are doing great. I can't wait to hit the stand and dedicate my next deer to him. I hope you guys are seeing lots of deer!
Congrats. Awesome to hear and great to hear everyone is well. Hope you get a nice one for him. We had our first last November and I got out for one hunt in Dec and got him a little button buck, I've got a feeling you'll put that to shame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congrats Spears! Sorry for my really long absence! September has been an abolustely crazy month for me! But I am back in action now and should be way more responsive on this thread. So far over the past month I have been hammering doves any chance I get and I must say that I am about sick of eating bacon wrapped dove, which I typically dont say
So I am happy to report that I managed to put a nice doe on the ground within the first hour of opening morning today! Here is a couple pics that I will get submitted on the scoring thread! Best of luck to everyone else!
