Been out for a few sits this year. Last weekend I took my son and we saw a whopper of an 8pt(150"+). I am still in shock. Really hoping I see that buck again. I have 2 weeks of vacation starting on Halloween. Then it will be game on.

Sorry for the confusion. Thats the land owner who shot the buck not me. Just wanted to show it off in this thread because I missed him earlier in the season.

I made it out last night, first time in a tree after my scare. I got into the woods a little late, but that turned out to be not a big deal as nothing was moving before dark. I rattled with about 20 minutes of shooting light left with nothing showing up. I climbed down and when i got to the base of the tree 2 deer came in, 1 of which I believe to have been my target buck (it was dark, but I could barely make him out).

I'm sitting tomorrow night, saturday, sunday, and hopefully monday on two properties in mn, then taking a weekend off before two straight 4 day weekends in wisconsin. This weekend is really my last chance to get it done in Minnesota before the rifle season. Wish me luck.

Shot another doe last night team. Straight buck hunting from now on! I have this entire week off from work and plan on hunting am and pm every day. I didn't see anything this morning, my deer sightings are absolutely horrible this year. I am not sure whats going on!! Lots of scrapes and rubs are starting to show up, I hope things start heating up this week.

Struck out this weekend, got busted on saturday morning drawing back on a 140" 10 point. Rookie mistake on my part, and I'm still kicking myself for it. I did however put up a ground blind on some public land that should at least produce a doe, and moved a couple stands around. I'll be sitting all day wednesday where I had a chance buck on saturday, and will be back up in northern wisconsin friday thru monday. It's time to put something on the ground.

Been hunting the wrong side of the farm. Hunted the south side yesterday and saw a 10 point on 2 does. Also a 8 point just about the same size of the one I posted that the land owner shot.

Saw a small 1.5yr old buck yesterday am. This am I got skunked. The deer movement has continued to be crappy for me. I got another set on a more rural piece of property. Much bigger fields and smaller woodlots. I saw monster tracks all along the clover field. Going to give this piece of property a try the next few days! Anyone think the rut should be kicking in pretty good here in the next couple days? I am seeing a ton of fresh scrape lines here in West Michigan. The younger buck I saw yesterday morning was moving along pretty well, he seemed to be on the prowl for sure.
