I just realized the tip of Texas is pointing the wrong direction. I think I like the concept and the name you added looks good. Anyone able to photoshop something similar? Or we can stick to my art work. Lol

Nice little punch there with that weight and momentum! I’m at about 475. Love heavier arrow setups.

Nice, hopefully they get checked in quick.

Well MD hunting season starts tomorrow with dove and early season goose. I'm hoping to get out and hunt at least one tomorrow. Then only 1 week til deer! Really looking forward to this season for some reason.

Any of you guys hunt dove?

I wish we could hunt dove here in Michigan. We had a couple years where certain counties could hunt them as a trial period. Unfortunately the liberals did not like it and it never progressed further and it’s illegal again now.

Our early goose season starts tomorrow. One of these years I should go. Lol

I love to wing shoot, but it's a drive of 2-3 hours for me to find any kind of consistent dove action. Tasty little burgers, and very fun to hunt, just not easy to find around me. Season opens tomorrow but I doubt I get out.

My wife has labor day off and wants me to take her pig hunting, so I think that's what's on the menu. Just got done loading some rounds for her to use.

My arrows are only about 390, I think next year I'm going to grab some brass inserts and try to get up to that 450 range. That would bump up my FOC a decent bit over just getting heavier shafts.

30 days to go and I'll be in a tree. Broadheads shooting as good as I can out to 68 yards so I think I'm good there. Can't wait to get started!

A pig hunt is something I always wanted to do. There just isn't any near me without a good bit of traveling.

Had a good morning with a few buddies. Ended up shooting 6 geese this morning. They were the only group to come by and we dropped them all, lot of fun!

Always enjoyed goose hunting. Don’t get to do it as much as I’d like. But always a good time

    Sounds like a good morning!

If you ever get down this way, I'll be happy to try and help you out with that. It would mostly be public land, no feed to concentrate them, but theres enough of them in some areas that I bet we could make it happen.

I got out for an hour or so doing some squirrel hunting. Wasnt until after I missed the 3d one that I realized the ramp for my sights was on its side. So I ended up with only 1 for the morning. Going to try to go back out in the morning and get 3 or 4 more. Get enough to make it worth having a cheat meal and frying some squirrel and taters. Probably my favorite wild game meat, and favorite meal

I actually stumbled across a pack of 50gr brass inserts that I had in my trad box, so I'm going to pop those in my shafts, bump my arrow weight up to around 445 with my nokturnal and 11% foc. Not as high as I'd hoped, but not terrible

Yeah that should help. I need to weigh my arrows to see were there at. I'm shooting CE piledrivers 350 with a 15 gr footer and 125 points. I know I'm over 500 gr. But I bet I'm pushing over 550.

Man that's getting up there. I bet your bow is silent and hard hitting! I have thought about switching to those shafts myself. Probably will when I make it out for elk one of these days

Out of curiosity, what was your reason for shooting that heavy an arrow? What's your KE look like?

Got 2 stands and feeders up over the weekend at one of my properties, had a trail camera stolen at another and hopefully next weekend or this week I’ll get the rest of my stands ready to roll

Not sure what my KE is with that arrow. My reasons were I was looking for a hard hitting setup if I did get into the shoulder of a deer. I had a few times that I lost deer due to my arrow being light and a also I was shooting a mechanical head. I ended up hitting the shoulder and dead stopped my arrow. Since switching, I have had a pass thru on ever single deer since, but also only shoot fixed heads. The added bonus was it quieted my bow down so much that I could hear it with my own ears.

I'm very confident in my setup now. It took many years of trial and error before I was happy with what I was shooting.

Fair enough. Not much of a detriment unless your hung up on speed, and a lot of benefits for sure. That arrow stuck in the ground on the far side sure is nice
