From what I know, with a tail left you move your rest slightly to left. See if that clears it up any. Very small movement of rest goes along way. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Thanks holt. I'm not real happy with the way my arrow flight is, I definitely see some tail wag on the broadhead and it's extremely finicky on form, more so than is normal. So I'm going back to basics tomorrow. Going to start with a paper tune, then walk back tune, and see where I'm at then. If I cant get it figured out then I'll be trying to fit my bow in with a tech to make sure that it hasn't gotten out of time or something. Hate to do that this time of year, but I didn't notice the issue till i started trying to broadhead tune Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Got my Iron Clay peas planted this weekend and have already got some good rain to get them growing. Felling pretty good about my plots this year.
In 2 Fridays my season starts! I plan to hunt opening day, but not sure I want to take care of a deer before I leave for Colorado. That's alot to do with also packing, work and family. But if I get a perfect shot, I may not be able to resist! Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
What's everybody's strategy this year? Do you hunt early season, pre-rut, rut, late season? I generally stay away from my land until mid to late October before really hitting it hard. I hate to scent up an area before necessary.
I love early season and much prefer it over the rut. There is way more strategy involved and that's what I like. I'm hoping I will be tagged out for the contest before the end of September. I plan to dedicate October to mostly just getting my first sika. Then November will be back on whitetail. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I agree with early season. I much prefer hunting October than November, with most of my hunting being the first 3 weeks of October. My bow hunting will be limited to that or late season this year, for the most part, as I'm planning a thru hike for late november-early december. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Right now I only have big woods to hunt. Just keep moving and look for the best food source in the area. I run a camera all summer over a mineral site to see what bucks are out there, but once season starts, they rarely go near it. I have killed a few on opening day, but I just haven't done enough scouting this year to locate a good buck. Right now the biggest buck on camera all summer is a 40" 6 pt. It's been a strange year so far. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
My main strategy is hunting travel corridors in the fairly mountainous region I hunt, and hunting natural food sources. My main area is around 15000 acres, and roughly 14000 is mixed hardwood forest. That means a lot of oaks... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
That's some tough hunting. I don't know about you but the woods I hunt there is no such thing as buck beds. They consistently are moving and bed at the best given spot were ever they are at the time. Food is definitely the place to be when you can find it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I hunt whenever I get a chance to through out the season. The small property I hunt doesn’t hold any decent bucks. The bucks seem to bed a couple of properties down from what I could tell. The property I hunt does hold some does. If I do get a buck on camera it’s at night. I see most of the bucks late October to mid November but it’s kind of hit or miss. Yep that's how it is. It would be a pretty novel experience to hunt somewhere that I could say "that" is where the deer are bedding lol. It's tough hunting, sometimes frustrating because you may hunt a great looking area multiple sits without seeing a deer. Just have to hunt those good travel corridors and spend some time in the woods Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Did a couple avatars, not sure how they will look. Anyone else want to try a few? Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
My wraps finally came in and I just finished fletching a half dozen arrows. These are Black Eagle .350 spine Spartan shafts with the stainless components and 30 grain brass weights screwed into the back of the inserts. Onestringer arrow wraps and Duravane Fusion vanes. These finished out at 430 grains. Going to shoot 100 grain heads, not sure which ones yet. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
