The whole dang state of Ohio has been covered with rain the last 3 days.. I’m working OT this weekend and might not get out, but I have off Friday next week and can hunt into the weekend. Hopefully I see some action Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congrats on the buck Clinton! That old boys a stud. I’m in the stand now toughing out this cold drizzle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congrats Clinton! Great buck. Been trying to catch up with a buck recently but haven’t made it happen. Did connect with this for a couple weeks back tho! I’ll get it on the score thread.
Hey guys! Shot one this morning. Heard him grunt and cries the ditch 20 yards from. Didn't have time to judge him just knew he was a shooter. Unfortunately, I center punched him back of his vitals and watched him take a few steps, look around, take a few steps, etc. Didn't run just walked very slowly. I watched him do this into some thick sumac until I couldn't find him in the binos. I elected to get down and circle around down wind to see if he came out. I never saw him. I came back to the truck and am waiting it out. Shot him at 7am with my rage. Clean pass thru but didn't go look for my arrow because I didn't want to bump him. Hopefully I find him. I think he's a good one. Any experience with shots like these? Good luck out there guys! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
Congrats man! Great news! I would get your arrow, that will tell the story. If you think you can't get to your arrow with out bumping him, min wait for 6-8 hours. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm currently waiting in the truck listening to my Chiefs play. Head spinning... going over the shot a gazillion times. Hoping for the best. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
Good luck! Waiting is the hardest part. Keep us posted on what you find Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Waited 8 hours and went in and found my arrow. Found a blood trail and bumped him where I last saw him this morning. He stood up and all I saw was rack. He took a couple steps really heavy footed and I backed out. I was downwind of him and I circled around to see if he would come out of the thicket. He never did. I think I'm going to come back in the morning and hopefully he beds down again. Sleepless night! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
Dang, but sounds like he is in bad shape. What's the arrow like? Looks like alot of dark blood, so maybe liver? Do you smell any guts on the arrow? Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
No smell like stomach contents. He's acting like a liver shot. I guess I should've waited another 3 or 4 hours. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
If it's straight liver, he is a dead buck. I shot a doe 2 years ago and I jumped her shortly after shot while I was checking arrow. . She went 100 yards and died right on my neighbors black top driveway. Hopefully he beds fast and you find him right there. After 12 hours I can't see him still being alive, but I have heard of stranger things. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Arrow has quite a bit of blood. As holt said probably liver shot and a dead buck. Doesn’t sound like you pushed him far. Good luck on the recovery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Crazy day for me.. went down to southern Ohio with a buddy to store our jet skies for the winter, trim shooting lanes hang a stand and put some corn out for my rut vacation that starts this Friday.. didn’t plan on hunting until we were hanging out on the porch around 1am and heard grunting and chasing down in the valley and it got us fired up! Well needless to say I woke up slightly hungover and already late to get in the woods but still went anyway lol on my way to my stand I spooked a doe that was blowing at me at 25 yards so I sent one her way.. hit her a bit back quartering away and she ran onto the neighbors farm. (Which we ended up never finding because we kicked her up following the weak blood trail and we had a time frame to get back home by so we had to leave her) Not sure about the shot I found blood and went on to my stand. Soon as I climbed up I sent my buddy a text saying I shot one and I heard something coming towards me.. not 15 min after shooting the first doe I smoked one at 20 yards which I watched fall 50 yards away. Sucks not being able to find my first doe but I met up with the neighbor kid and he was going to try and track it. First time that’s ever happened to me not being able to find one but I guess there is a first time for everything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So what's the word? You wait til this morning, or did you go back in last night? Man what a long stressful day for you. I bet you find him close by. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I drove home last night (72 miles) and I'm waiting under my platform blind currently until sun rise. It's supposed to rain heavily today... of course! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
