Good luck everybody. I'm gonna hit my primary huntin spot for the last time today. The area closes down Friday evening until dec 3d I think this year. Had a great sit last night.... ended up seeing 19 total (5 bucks, 8 doe, 6 fawns). Lots of fresh scrapes on my walk in. Its about to explode here in Wisconsin!
That is a great buck! Good luck! Well I gave it a go today. Made a mistake and tried to switch trees this morning and ended up spooking a deer, then got back out after a quick lunch and had 3 does at 0 yards. Hard to get a shot when they walk into sight at 15 yards, right under your tree and into thick stuff... That's it for my main hunting area until december because it closes down tomorrow night. Well after many hours of looking we can’t find him. Lesson learned. NEVER SHOOT A DEER FACING YOU! I have learned a great lesson today and hope to never make that mistake ever again. I wish I would’ve waited for him to turn cause he was a stud!
That’s a bummer peggman. Good lessons learned. Looks like muscle blood from what I see. My son learned the same lesson this year with his 357 cal rifle. Shot a big doe that was facing him. Think he might have hit her high in the neck. Had decent blood but it was all muscle blood. There is just not a lot of room for error when they are in that position. I really hope so. I got this guy on camera and it was really cool to see him make a scrape right in front of me then walk in to 30 yards I’ll be checking my cameras tomorrow to see what it says. Hopefully something good
Hey guys, Sorry I have been so absent. Between work, ball games and trying to get some hunting in Ive been swamped. I did kill a doe. I havent added her to the score card yet but I will try and get it done shortly. Hunting has been fairly slow here. We have had one encounter with a mature buck but was unable to close the deal . Good luck to everyone hunting. Should start to pick up.
Hey guys! I've been out 3 times and seen a lot of smaller 1.5 & 2.5 year old bucks with lots of character but hoping they make it a couple more years. I have vacation starting Saturday and 9 days off. Fingers crossed to seal the deal. I have been on a little drought since 2014 so I'm hoping my luck changes this year!
