Anyone been out lately? I have only had 2 days off in the last 2 weeks but made it out both times. Been seeing a lot of deer each sit but none are coming in range. Saw some late rut action middle of this week, had a small 8 chasing and pushing 7 does through the corn field. Good luck to you all and Merry Christmas.
Went out Friday night and saw a decent 8 pt that never came into range but I doubt I would have shot him and a small buck earlier that day. Going again tonight and in the morning. Trying to get a buck on the ground but it's been a tough year for me. Still have a little time left so I'll keep trying. Merry Christmas and happy hunting.
Anyone else hunting this weekend? I'm leaving around noon today for the weekend. It's all over on the 15th here an I'm gonna take it right down to the wire.
I am going to try and get out Saturday or Sunday. Been out at least once a week for the last month and have seen tons of deer each sit but just havent had any come within range. Just bought the new Hoyt Spyder 30 so I would love to get a deer down this season with it!
Yea I love it so far. Had a big scare with it on the second day shooting it... I use a thumb release so no strap holding release to my arm, went to adjust my grip while at full draw and release slipped out of my hand, arrow went flying somewhere through my neighborhood while the release went clanking off my bow and then bouncing back and hitting me. Left a small nick right above the grip but everything else checked out. Took it back to the shop and got the ok, just going to have to live with a slight blemish. Oh, I switched releases to prevent this from ever happening again!
Hunted all weekend saw a red fox twice (entertaining little fellow), squirrels and birds. No deer, not one. Gonna try again next weekend one last time and then that's it for me this season. Any idea where that arrow went Scon? That's pretty scary stuff dude!
Yea it freaked me out. We had about 4inches of snow on the ground at the time, I looked around my backyard with no luck, never heard it hit the fence either, there is about 200yards between my house and the ones behind me so I am hoping its somewhere there and not in the side of someone's house.
Looking like Thursday will be my last hunt for the season. Weather isnt looking the best either, temps in the 60's with rain.

Well boys, its been fun. I had a pretty good season overall. Got 2 with the bow and 2 with the boom stick. Set a goal of 5 total. But im happy with 4. Looking forwards to turkey season now. Good luck to everyone if they turkey hunt, and good luck next year if ya'll do this again.
