Well I found him dead in the creek about 250 yds from where I shot him. Had minimal blood for the first 80 yds, then nothing, then it picked back up 20 yds further. Unfortunately the meat was bad with it being a gut shot and the high temps we had. Coyotes had also started tearing into the buttock region. I am going to get a shoulder mount done, he is just too odd of a deer to not do it, and I feel bad about losing the meat, so I think it is the best thing I can do, it will at least be a reminder to make better shots. Ill post the score and all later tonight, got a buddy scoring it for me at the taxi shop.

went bow hunting for the second time this weekend. 20 minutes past shooting light i grunted and a doe being trailed by a buck walked out of the thicket 10 yds in front of me. They were behind a small hill so i had to stand up to take the shot. The buck spooked and i missed the doe at 10 yds damn adrenaline! Sunday morning i sat for three hours and started to cramp so i stood up two does spooked 30 yds away. A third one trotted off and stood at 40 yds i havnt practiced much at 40 and didn't feel comfortable with the shot. I will be heading out again next weekend still trying to put my first deer on the ground with a bow.

Got the score sheet from my buddy and posted it up. Scored 98 3/4 . Hes not the biggest but I bet he will probably the oddest deer I shoot. I've done what I can for the team, now its time to go fill the freezer some more. Good luck to all yáll still hunting for some points.

Shot a 170 to 180 class buck tonight. Quartering away from me at 27 yards. Could not find the arrow (not unheard of with me, usually do not get pass throughs) and colorblind so I can't see blood if it's there. Will look again tomorrow.

Hey Gut, the name is Mark, but nevermind on that. I figured with the angle the arrow entered I might have caught some intestines, so I took the tractor out around the pond that would have been in his line of travel but did not find him there or around 4 other ponds. There are two others close by that I'll check in the morning.

Dont think he was calling you tom, think he was saying tom as in tomorrow. But anyways, good luck mark, hope you recover, i know all to well what you are probably feeling right now considering I had the same thing little over a week ago, only on a much smaller class of deer.

appreciate it. If my buddy can't find it, it is very doubtful that anyone can. This guy is a hunting/tracking guru!
