been almost 2 weeks and i'm itching to get back out also....scouted this local place yesterday, but it looks like a far hike...need a bike for that area as I saw some other hunters riding their bikes, lmao....anyways, going back up to WI this weekend and hope to put a buck on the board...*crosses fingers*
Shot a doe tonight. Originally wasn't planning on shooting a doe till late season but I had three come in tonight. They got downwind of me and began to get nervous. I decided to go ahead and take one since she busted me and began blowing at me. Anyway I hit her perfect and 50 yards later she piled up. Now with meat in the freezer it time to focus on ole ole big boy.
Congrats on the doe and putting another 50pts on the board! As mentioned I took my wife out tonight for her first hunt and it was as planned. Had a few does in early but never gave her the right shot and good thing she waited, she arrowed a 7point within 30 minutes of passing. She's pumped and hopefully we have another bowhunter in the making!
Alright boys, just got the word from the suits upstairs that I have to remind you that if you don't put the date and time of the harvest on your post on the scoreboard, it won't count towards the team. That's all I gotta say, so get back to work! You know several teams would be missing a crap load of points had not FITZ been going back and reminding them, but those days are gone so we have to make sure we play by the rules.
Well, just got back from my honeymoon but prob wont get out for another week as all the traveling and boozing caught up to me and I have a mean head cold. Good luck to all you guys heading out this week!
You freaking got married during bow season!?!? Are you nuts???? Now every year when you want to be in the stand, she's going to want you to take her out instead!!! hehehehehe Congratulations!
Congrats Ok and Guts. I've been TOO busy to be on here much lately. We've been moving our office and warehouse, plus my laptop crashed three days ago and real bad too etc. Also not looking like I'll be in the woods this coming weekend like I had thought...
Hahaha, yeah I know. Our venue actually double booked our date so we had either the end of September or the middle of november to pick from so you know how hard that choice was. My wife is actually really supportive, I've been able to take off the entire month of november to hunt the last few years and she doesn't give me any grief.
I think you need to read this post brother, she might be supportive now....... http://ruraliowegian.wordpress.com/2012/10/09/women-in-total-control-of-home/ You'll enjoy, in fact every man who is married should read this once. ;9)
Worked late again tonight, but I dont care. Its gonna be a good morning, I just have that feeling. Supposed to get down to mid 30's tonight, had a little rain move through earlier tonight also. I'm heading to bed now and hopefully will sleep at least 4 hours. I will be in stand by 615 for sure. Will hunt the morning and afternoon tomorrow, and just the morning on thursday, gotta take the wifes vehicle to the shop to get some work done. Hopefully I will at least see something tomorrow, be nice if I could get a shot, but i'll just be happy to see deer while in stand. I also got my camera mount in for my bow today, so I will be filming my shots now if I take one. Well im off to bed, good luck to every one and be safe if you head out.
Nothing tonight or last night. Skunked two nights in a row is no fun. On a lighter note, it was nice coming home to my new heating system.
I'll be out this afternoon again. With winds out of the south and a front on its way, hopin' there'll be bone moving before last call tonight!
I'm with ya. I'll be hanging over a south to north trail this evening hoping they get on their feet before dark to take a trip to the ole wheat field. This southerly wind is what I've been waiting for. Good luck.
