Had one small four point come in. Where I was hunting they need to have a minimum of four point a side. Will be back at later this week as work allows.

Walked by one of my stands this morning. I know where he is bedding too. Not the biggest buck in the world, but he'd do if all else falls apart.

Heading out tonight to try and put something on the ground. Doe season came in yesterday so I'll try to put some more points on the board and meat in the freezer. Nice buck Iowa.

This sucks Iowa, we are the only ones on this team that can't hunt yet. 14 days and counting. I work opening day at 1430 but may just have to stalk out for a morning hunt with just my bow and ground pound it. Found a nice little spot on the public land coming off the river on a little shelf, deer follow the creek bed right along the bottom of the shelf in a nice open lane but the shelf has some nice brush piles to sit behind. Be nice to knock a doe down first thing, ready for some deer meat to be in the freezer again.

I can wait. I have all my stands strategically located to maximize my kill potential, the bow is sighted in and I'm all ready. Opening morning I'll be in the stand where the buck in the photo above was taken. Catch him coming out of the corn field on the neighbor and he's mine. Once he steps onto my property, he's safe until after Schultzy scores down here.

I marked sunrise/sunset from Oct.15th to Dec. 31st on the calendar...gonna do the lunar phases in a bit. The amount of time I've spent this year preparing is making Oct 15th feel like months away. I don't know if I can make it haha

Hang on Hank, you can do it. I have 5 shooters on camera now and looking forward to seeing anyone of them after October 1st. Once the rut gets here, then it's really game on because what you have on camera no longer matters with the amount of area bucks will cover. I have tons of does on my property so the bucks will come. (no pun intended).

Had a dream it was opening day and I seen a buck with a rack that resembled the shovels on a moose. This is gonna be a long month

so close, but no cigar...actually had a few chances, but didn't pull the trigger....

Saturday morning = headed out at 4am....saw doe/bambi but opted not too shoot just yet
    Saturday evening = saw nothing
Sunday evening = saw a big ol doe, but no shot as she was standing behind my tree
Monday evening = got busted/blown at so I went to my spot #2....was about to shoot 1 of the 2 does but I saw a 130+ class buck so I held out on shooting a doe....buck never came within shooting lane so didn't get a shot off...smh

long season so I'm sure I'll tag something sooner or later....looks very promising so far....

Just checking in. Nothing new here since the season is still a week and a half away. Was going to wash my camo today, but I'm actually out of detergent. Need to pick some up, wash the clothes, and then I'm all set.
