That's the spirit! I got a drawing to post as soon as you knock a doe down and we have the lead for a moment.

SConley81, that's a great buck! Congrats! It seems like Oct 1 can't get here fast enough. As far as broadheads I shoot 85gr Thunderheads.

Thanks for the welcome. As for last year I wasn't able to put one down with the bow. I had one good opportunity at a really nice buck but I had to make an awkward shot from a crouched position and I pulled the shot low. He's still around cause I got a pick of him on my camera a couple of weeks ago so maybe I'll get a shot at him this season. Also, this year I've got an additional property to hunt that has some real monsters on it. One in particular will go 160+ and I've got some pics of him and a few others at one of my feeders. It's hard to hunt that property (deep woods) but if I put in enough time I think I can be successful there and with that caliber of deer walking the property you can bet I'll be putting in alot of time in the tree!

Thanks! My only B&C animal and I'm proud of him. Killed him a few years back on Prince Wales Island Alaska on a DIY hunt with a buddy of mine. Memory of a lifetime.

Going to put the finishing touches on an elevated blind today and then sit back and try to patiently wait until October 1st. This sucks.

All I'm doing is taking an old elevated blind that my son left here and the cover shredded. I purchased some camo burlap and will be hanging it to breakup any silhouette.

I didn't get it done as I didn't have the canvas needle. Will pick one up tomorrow while the wife is shopping with the girls.

Got a chance to get out in the woods tonight. Had two cow horns come out into a field of buck forage oats. Then a decent 8 or 10 came out way after shooting light. Couldnt really tell how big but looked like a shooter. Plan on going out in the morning, we've got a cold front coming through tomorrow, maybe that'll get them on their feet.

I had an uneventful morning on stand even though the stand of oaks I was in was dropping acorns like rain. Wont get back out again till mon morn. Good luck to Z and anyone else hitting the woods.

I had deer totally disregard the acorns in one oak grove last year. I wonder why they do that? Maybe some acorns aren't as tasty to them as others?

Says it's in eastern Iowa. I'm in south central about 20 miles from where the Lowenstein Buck was taken.
