Thanks, guys. Curiosity got the better of me, and with the rain/mist, I decided to head out and check one more cam on the east side of the property. Turns out I caught that buck that same morning about an hour later:

Plus, this guy (yep, I'm getting pumped now):

I decided to hold off on the spot and took my dogs out in the woods close to my house. Every year or so it usually holds a big guy, all we seen was a few small tracks and a small sapling tore up haha. Still havnt gotten them to bring back sheds for me. On a side note I've been itching at the thought of mock scrapes, or over-marking...do any of you do this, when is the best time to mock or over-mark ?

Hope y'all are having a good holiday. I'm sitting at work, doing absolutely nothing and getting paid $42/hr to do it. It was really easy to get up and come to work today. Be safe, and drink a few cold ones for me.

Nice....I'd take 42/hr to do nothing all day every day. Not much of a beer man. Don't drink very muck but when I do it's Makers Mark or a good Vadka.

That's ok, I'm sitting at home and getting $22.50/hour for that. That's if I did work a 40 hour week 4 weeks a month, but I don't work at all! hehehehe

Update: haven't been able to hunt much in sc where the season is already in. Had a small 8 point come last time I hunted but no shooters. Worked on stands today in nc and checked a camera. Just some does and a bear are going thru that set up at this point. But hoping the bear relocates so some more deer will show up. I'm hoping to hunt in sc next weekend, and maybe I can get some horn in the ground. Hope everyone is doing good and having a great labor day!

Good news and bad news fellows, shot my 8 point I was hoping to see, not very confident in my arrow placement, looked to be back. Gave him about an hour before I went back and got my arrow and to pick up blood. He stopped about 20yds from shot and have good blood but nothing after that or at least I could find. Pulled out and going back in the morning as I didnt want to push him possibly further away. To bad none of you live close by in Ky!

You did the right thing by backing out. What was on the arrow? Any stomach contents or stink? If you gut shot him you'll find him in the morning. Keep us posted and good luck. Its gonna be a long night for ya.

No stomach contents on the arrow but it did stink. Hopefully he didn't go to far and just bedded down. I hunt on the outer parts of my golf course so I have to get there early, hate for him to be laying on one of the greens, lol! I'll keep you all posted.

Well I recovered him just now about 50yds from last seen. You know the saying about pictures add 20lbs, well I have some ground shrinkage on this boy but still a very good buck!

Congratulations! Score him, get two different photos to post on the Official Scorecard thread and if you get a doe before October 1st, you can sit back and cheer the rest of us on the rest of the season!
