    Opening Day
Sunday morning ! Will I be in a stand? Not sure right now! Why you say? I truly am not sure, I guess it'll depend on the wind and if Church will be a priority! Pretty sure God comes before hunting & everything else:nana:. MAybe Sunday evening! I'll keep in touch. Oh yeah my land owner informed me last night that he was selling the chicken farm where High Tower ,Full Curl & Tank call home. He also said he'd try to sell it on the bases I can still hunt the property! Now I have to really put my faith in the good Lord! Wish me luck guys.

Now that would be the difference between you and I, I'm a God fearing kind of guy ,now if he say's it's okay then and only then, would I venture into the bush ahead of him. If he wants me to hunt, then he'll have the right wind for the stand and he'll walk out one of my top 5 bucks before me to arrow

Feeling alright. I am still pretty weak, but able to do most of my regular stuff. Definitely no checking cameras or messing with stands in the next couple of weeks. Just walking across campus with an empty backpack puts me in quite a bit of pain. I think it's all pretty normal though, should be able to get in the woods by mid September.

This is a major perk to going to a 10:30 church service! Every fall my church moves the services from 9:30 to 10:30, it gives me an extra hour on stand!

Our August goose season has been going on for a couple weeks now. The local populations aren't huge right now and most of them are wise enough to recognize a decoy spread. A buddy and I got out a couple weeks ago and all the birds we scouted came in one flock. We only go four birds, but it gave us our hunting fix! The best part was taking out his young pup. It was four month old Bruce's first hunt!

Hey fellas, the signature looks much cleaner if you save this version of it instead of saving the small version in my signature.

Our church also starts @ 10:30 but there is no way I'd do an AM hunt if I needed to be @ church for 10:30, I don't leave the bush till 11:00 on an AM hunt. Reasoning is ,I don't want to bump any deer on my way out. Anyway Boof, good luck on your recovery and don't rush your self ,you got another 2 months to get a deer or 2.
I'll be going out holiday Monday! Where too! The wind will be my selector!

Heading out soon for another couple hours of scouting for geese. Opener tomorrow! Not looking too promising though.

Howdy gents, looks like you all are keeping busy. I'll be going through my hunting gear tomorrow and pulling sd cards on Monday. I'll be out of town next weekend for my niece's birthday so I gotta get that stuff done this weekend. Two weeks away from opening day.

Yeah me and my dad use to be real big into waterfowl a few years back but now deer have pretty much taken over. Most the lakes around here load up with people so it comes down to knocking on doors again but I don't really have the time to do to much goose scouting. Are season opens up tomorrow but I'm just gonna was out a few times until deer season rolls around to get the dog out since its been almost two years since I've taken her out. That and get my fix of hunting in:tu:

Heck I will be heading out Monday after I try to get some geese in the morning. Probably move a few cameras around since they seem to be moving off the mineral sites now

Things are not so good for me going into the holiday weekend. First I get into either some really nasty chiggers or seed ticks and my feet are covered. It's so painful / uncomfortable to even wear socks and / or walk. It'd my own dang fault... I should have known better! Next, I get some type a bug that knocks me to the knees for the next 48 hours. This is the first time I have been out of bed since Saturday evening. I think it was food poisoning but can't say for certain. I hope this isn't some kind of intuition of how my season is going to start.

Have to find a way I can function with these bites all over my ankles and feet! :(
