Well my day started out bad and bad went to worse.. As I was getting ready to leave this morning I was notified our entire network at work was down. Through my crap in the truck, jumped in the shower so I could swing by the office to see what had happened on my way out of town. Get in the truck and it won't start... dead battery... So I get that squared away and head to the office in my pre-hunt cloths no less. Short story as the AC unit in the server closet took a crap and fried a bunch of equipment. I patched up what I could with what I had to work with and headed north.

Walked into the property a little after one... None of the cover on google earth is there. They had bulldozed and burned the entire tree line I was going to setup in. So I head further into the property. Again... Google Earth elevations where all off. I was faced with a crick with a 20 ft drop off and no way across as it was super deep. So I walk the creek for about a 1/4 mile and find a place to cross. Would be my luck too that the crop fields were cut beans instead of corn. Never had much luck over cut beans. So I end up in the far NE corner in standing timber. Beans on one side of me with nice CRP on the private side. About 4 PM a bird hunter and his dog named Jack walked the entire creak. I know the dogs name was Jack as his owner screamed his name 3000 times.....

Needless to say I watched the sunset and didn't see anything within a 1000 yards. To add a even better ending I couldn't find where I had crossed the creek in the dark. I slid down a mud bank breaking through the thin ice landing in water that was 6 inches over the top of my boots. The last .4 miles was all up hill. I was completely exhausted when I finally got back to the truck.

Now that is what I call bad luck. Please remember this post and laugh next time something goes wrong and you think you have it bad. :)

Plan is to stay home with the fam tomorrow and make another go at it Sunday.

Water over the boots doesn't sound good. Better luck next time.

Weather did it,snowfall advisory in affect as of noon tomorrow chance of 70cms of snow over night and a high of -27. That's it my year is over, a huge dissapointment for sightings and for deer period, !st time I have ever had such a bad season I even shot a buck in my second year of being self taught. Good luck Heck Sunday! Had to be tough on the feet walking that far with wet and cold feet.

Momma said there'd be days like this.
Bummer Rocky, better luck to you next season. Glad to have you as a teammate this year regardless of the outcome.

Going out for a couple hours to see if I can get a doe. Picked up some new broadheads to try. Nap killzones. They fly well. Nothing wrong with old ones just trying something new for fun.

Have not been out for a couple weeks. Bruised a rib at work and makes it difficult to breathe normally let alone shoot a bow. Really hope to get back out soon and get a doe down.

Dang Heck sounds like one of those great days where all you gotta do is laugh after its all done.
Youngfart thats a bummer but at least you where able to give it a hell of a run, just means those boys will be just that much bigger if they make it.
Well Kinda changed some things up this weekend. Went out deer hunting for about 15 min this last weekend.Typically I will not even hunt unless I get a full sit. Saturday Me and a buddy where running his dogs all day shootin rabbits. Got back to the house with about 45 min of legal time left so I said screw it, put my camo on and walked out the back door. Climbed up in the ladder stand in the back yard and about 15 min later had a 2.5 year old doe come in. Freezer is low so decided to break in the new smoke pole. Couldnt see anything after the shot but I heard her run off then stop, couple seconds later she crashed over about 50 yards from the shot. :tu:. Yesterday ran the dogs again in the morning, then my dad and I went to a creek that we know of and shot a few Mallards for the evening. Was pretty nice to relax and have some fun this weekend instead of being dead set on gotta go deer hunting. Filming partner went to a wild game dinner and got talking with a guy that has 30 acres he might let us in on. Guess he has been seeing a good 10 and a few others. So where gonna try to figure that out this week and see if we cant make a couple sits over there this weekend.

Well guys... Things have really slowed down for me here locally. Rife season starts tomorrow. May have to get out the old .270 and put a doe on the ground. Made it out a couple times since my last post. Not a hole lot of excitement.

I REALLY want to get to Nebraska as this big cold front pushes through starting tomorrow but just can't due to family stuff. Their rifle season ended on the 24th and with the late rut I suspect there is still some big boyz cruising. Looks like it will be Saturday at the earliest before I can get out again.

Bow, rifle, shotgun get out there and have fun in nature. I have the most fun with my bow on my own, but the others are fun too. Contest or not. Enjoy the time we can hunt.

    Well Double Dx4 is down
Shot on the 16th 2 sections over from where I hunt. Scored 217, when I hit a branch shooting @ him last year I roughed him @207. Fish & Wildlife did a survey and the deer are down too 30 % from 2 years ago. No wonder I wasn't seeing any deer! Pretty depressing. Do all the work and there dying on ya! Go figure, time to start over again!

    No guys
But I let the fella who told me about him tell him that I can email him some pics I have of him from last year. So he needs to email me his email. Maybe he'll send me a picture just to confirm it because there's another one who looks like him that I call double Dx2 with only 2 drops, the other has 4 drops!http://[IMG]
This is DoubleDx2, he's pretty good also
