Youngfart - I was going to ask earlier and I forgot. Do you have much time with the Thermal foot warmers insoles? I was looking at them last year and therewere quite a few mixed reviews on them. Seemed to be more negative then positive. What are your thoughts?

I'm a little ticked off at them ( Thermal Insoles) they only take a charge that'll last 4 hours and they don't last that long, but they do take the cold out for a bit. Not worth the $120.00 I paid! That's my 2 cents! My feet are the 1st thing that gets cold on me, I have bad circulation in my feet from playing hockey and running , Always tied my laces too tight and cut of the circulation.

That seems to be what I keep hearing about them as we'll. don't get all that warm and they don't run as long as advertised.

    More Snow
Calling for another foot of snow over night, this should help yard the deer up ,in turn will hopefully draw the bucks closer to where I have a few stands just for that case! They bed close to the field edge so thay don't have far to get to the bales of clover the farmer keeps close by the field edge. This way there not wasting energy walking through the deep snow.

Man did this cold snap ever make the deer move. I saw at least 23 deer tonight. 7 of which I positively identified as bucks. They started feeding in the corn early. First set of deer I saw was at 3 PM . No shooters though. Closest I ever had a doe was at 43 yards. I thought with all the deer I was seeing eventually I would have one come in closer. Well I did but she busted me as I was looking at the other side of the tree line where most the deer were coming from. Had a bunch of cloths on... I was kind of was looking for a chip shot.

It was a good time and I learned a lot about their travel patterns. May try to hang a new set and catch them right before they enter the field. I identified two spots where most of the deer funnel from. Seems likes now is as good as ever to be out there!

Taking my pills for my arthritis, will subside the pain in my knees, so I can climb my steps up to the stand, Temps for today South@ 6 turning to westerly by 4pm with a high of +3 @2pm dropping to -7 over night. Cold morning today had a real hard frost temps at 25 with a 25mph wind. Snowed for a little bit putting a dusting of snow on the ground. No deer movement though. Checked all the cameras and and seen a few more good rubs. After gun open things have started to shut down only getting a few day time pics and does only really. Scratching my head in what to do. Probably take make a few more sits at the lease and see how things go then gonna have to come up with a game plan.

No hunting for me this weekend. Smoking venison, watching football, and drinking some cold beer.

Good luck out there. Very cold here. Starting to notice more and more bigger bucks being shot around here. Late compared to normal.

Well sheltered down in the box blind tonight. Had 20 turkeys scratching around, group of 5 mature does (kinda weird no fawns), and one dink buck. Weather man said few flurries tonight but we are getting hammered right now. Temps for tomorrow 15 in the morning, high of 26 with winds 10-20. Cold temps and some fresh snow gotta get the deer up and moving. Gonna sit the box blind again with the heater

One Cow moose on cam and a few does, not sure what to say! Trying another spot tomorrow from 10am till dark, it's a bedding spot when the deer yard up. Hoping that ,thats happening with 3 feet of snow. Had a hard time getting out as the knee was wanting to pop out of place. Trying to hold off on a knee operation as long as possible. Was hoping not for another 3 years, might be wrong!
Good luck to those hunting tomorrow.

Hope the knee feels better. I understand the bad knee thing. Tore all my ligaments in knee in college.

The idea of seeing a moose while deer hunting seems incredible to me. Seems cool everytime you mention it.

Forcast is for -1 to -5 @ 4:30 with winds from the NW at 40km, should be breezy, hopefully I can catch a roaming buck lookiing for a late estrus doe and there yarded up there! If not I haven't sat here yet this year, so I can at least see if there's been any movement there. It's the closest feed for the deer and it's loaded with beds in the deep snow usally later in the winter. They still need to walk 1/4 mile to the farmers bails lined up by the road. Good luck to any of you hunting today.
