Nice work woodsy. Rocky you always seem to have some crazy weather. Keep at it like you are doing.

Good luck to anyone out this weekend. I'm stuck going to a wedding this weekend. Not as bad to go to since I've shot something but still a terrible time to get married for us hunters.

If we can get woodsy & scarps buck posted on the score board that would move us back in to the top 10. Sixth place if woodsy buck scores 100 or more. In fact it would put us in fourth if the buck scores 112+! Woodsy, What you think your buck will score?

Not sure If I am going to make it out or not tomorrow... At least considering not traveling to Nebraska for a all day hunt. Suppose to be high winds. May try to hunt just the morning or evening locally and fill a doe tag.

Try to get those bucks on the scoreboard!!!

    Good buck scarps
Congrats woodsy now lets see it already lol
Well yesterday seen three fawns and then two fawns this morning. Back in my stand where I shot my doe, haven't say it since. No idea what tonight night bring. Hour left of light and nothing so far. Tomorrow the weather is looking miserable with high winds and thunderstorms so its not looking like I'm gonna make it out tomorrow.

Rifle season is cranking up all around South Dakota. I might not get in another good stretch of bowhunting until Christmas break in mid December. I am planning a five day trip to hunt some public ground as soon as my last final is finished.

Congrats woodsy! I wish I had something to contribute to the scorecard!

    Didn't make it out tonight
Snow and wind hindered my day hunt to day,now I have to wait till next weekend. Still snowing as I write this, got about a foot over the last day and 1/2. I hate it when you can only hunt on a weekend and the weather wreaks havoc on it! Keep at it guys I'll try to get on the board next weekend.

    Looks good Woodsy! Score it?

I just returned from my morning sit. Saw 2 bucks and 4 does. First day hunting KS since I harvested my buck in September that I regretfully had already filled my tag. Had a HUGE buck in bow range at 8 AM this morning. Easily a 180 class deer! His spread had to be at least 24". He had it all! Width, height and mass!!! Heart breaker!

You know... I didn't even attempt to take a picture. It takes a lot for me to clam up and I did. Just couldn't believe my eyes! He came out of the timber into the cut corn field head down cruising at 8 AM. He pasted me left to right coming towards at about 45 yards when he caught my wind. He lifted his head and froze. He then head bobbed a few times and walked back toward me upwind offering me what would have been a excellent quartering away shot at 25 yards.

I just about fell out of the tree. It all happened so fast.

It gave me the fever for sure. Headed to Nebraska again in the morning to see if I can get it done. Kind of curious to see how many gun shots I hear tomorrow as it is rifle season. Could work to my favor or not... Won't know if I am not there! Going to try to be out the door at 3:30 AM.... Ekkkkk....

What a bummer, I was sick all weekend. I haven't been out of bed since Saturday morning, if things go well today I may get out tomorrow. What a time of year to get sick.

I haven't measured him yet, I will today and get him posted. That's bittersweet the encounter u had Heckler! Hopefully he makes it another year and puts on another 20 inches, that`ll give u something to chase around next fall!

I`ve gotta say, I`m pretty bummed that bow season is over! seems like just yesterday it started. I had a really slow season this year, definitely not what I was expecting going into it. I missed a buck at 10 yards on oct 30th, he was right around the 100" mark. It was a chip shot, but my arrow hit a limb that I didn't see, sending the arrow 6 inches to the left of the buck that was quartering away underneath me. Talk about being bummed out! I didn't hunt Halloween, I don't have any morning spots that I can get into without spooking deer, and I brought my daughter out trick or treating in the evening. 1 am rolled around, and I was on the road with my 2 hunting buddies on our way to ohio! Had a lot of great encounters on the 2 week hunting trip, but didn't seal the deal. We`ve got a ton of footage of some great bucks 140+. I got home thurs night, and slept in Friday morning. Since Friday was the last day of NY bow, I was feeling pretty sad that I didn't have a deer on the ground yet!lol As luck would have it, 3:00 Friday afternoon I got my chance. The buck was locked up with a doe, and gave me a 30 yard shot. I passed up several bucks like him in ohio, but for around here hes a pretty good buck.

Heck- amazing encounter thats for sure hopfully he is around next year for you. Good luck today fighting with the orange army.

Waiting to hear from the farmer today to see how there weekend went. Hoping to go out there tomorrow and praying to have good pictures letting me know they made it through opening weekend. Went to two different buck poles this weekend and was very surprised that there wasnt very many bucks hanging and not very many big ones, biggest was probably only 145 range. Friday and saturday had high temps then yesterday was raining with wind gust hitting 60mph, today is really windy still. Tomorrow it calms right down to 7mph wind and temps with a high of 42 so should be a good day after this crappy weather the last few days.

Got the buck on official thread for points.

Went out last night to try to get a doe and mostly just observe things. Had a doe come broadside right in front of me. 3 does were heading my direction. Smallest one stopped broadside in front of me. Thought the second doe was the biggest and was waiting for her. Wouldn't you know....I was right. The second doe was the biggest, oldest and smartest. She winded me. Stomped once and got out of there quickly. Saw 2 bucks and 4 other does. Bucks were still cruising around after does. All of this was very late in the evening. One smaller buck and one nice buck that I couldn't see very well, but I believe it to be the buck that is really wide with broken tines on all of one side. Big deer.

I actually got down from tree stand after a doe crossed the finger I was in. Started slowly stalking her on the ground. Got within 40-45 yards of her. She was staring at me for awhile, but wouldn't move. It was really windy and starting to get dark so I didn't try any shot. Was kind of fun though.
