fairly easy.... If you miss it one year its almost a given you would get it the next. I know some guys that have went like 5 years without missing it.

Kansas is definitly a state I am going to make it real soon. Gonna try to make it to a new state every year unless I find a honey hole that I might have to go back to. Good looking buck though would be more then happy with a deer like that.

Well you are always welcome here. You'll have to crash in the basement with all the kids crap though. I don't have a lot of private ground to hunt but I know a lot of honey holes on pub ground if you are willing to walk!

I can't wait to do some out of state hunting. Right now it isn't in my college budget or schedule. I am already planning my Montana elk/deer hunt of 2015. I think about it everyday!

If any of you fellas are interested in SoDak hunting, let me know. Tags aren't bad, I believe they are $286 for a non resident.

I appreciate it. Always willing to work and earn my deer.
From the bucks you have been showing might have to make it there to. Are they over the counter tags for non resident?

Not sure if any one would want to come to Michigan since good bucks are far and few but same offer for any of you guys that would wanna come up.

Heck- when is usually your guys peak rut gotta be right about now since you are farther south. We are kinda in the lock down/ down slide of our rut here.

    Over the counter for archery.

If an out of stater was interested in South Dakota, I would highly recommend a west river rifle hunt. Drawing a tag isn't difficult for a non resident in most west river counties. There is tons of public ground out there and the rifle seasons typically fall after the rut so you wouldn't be missing too much valuable time archery hunting. With our west river tags you get the chance at chasing muleys or whiteys. The country is very cool stuff!

Seems later then usual this year or on & off. I'd say the second week in November is usually good! I haven't been hunting Kansas as much this year obviously. I've always good from the last week in October through the tail end of November!

Two weeks off one week her in Michigan then a week in kansas, that sounds good to me :tu:. Which do you think would have better odds early season or excitement of rut?

Boof- having a chance at a muley would be pretty sweet. One is on the bucket list thats for sure

I hate the excitement of the rut! Never know where, when, or if those horny bucks will show up and if you see a nice one you may never see him again. It is my personal goal to kill my buck before rut every year! At the same time your time hunting out of state is limited so you probably want to see the most deer you can! I would think you would want to start with states to the north and work your way south! I could be wrong. I haven't traveled to very many states to hunt.

Yeah the rut can be stressful at times but our season starts Oct 1 so by then the bucks are not really out to much in day light. Add the hunting pressure up here and they nocturnal until some love or cold winter and needing food. Im not really all about seeing a ton of deer just want to see the right ones. I could care less if I didnt see any deer but if I can get on that right one then im happy.

Just got back from ohio Thursday night, It was a fun trip but the deer activity seemed really weird. I passed up some 110-120 bucks and some small scrubs. Yesterday was the last day of NY bow, and I finally got one down! Hes by no means a slammer, but for this area hes definatly a good one. The rack doesn't match his body, hes a 170lb deer. I was starting to get a little nervous, I`ve hunted my *** off as much as I could! I`ll post some pics a little later

Can't wait to hear the story and see the buck, again Scarps congrat's
    Guy's
Was going out this am for an all day sit but the wind was high and it's a blizzard out there, going in the afternoon if it let's up. Deer will be bedded down anyway's in all this wind. Can't even see the house that backs up to mine cause of how hard it's snowing. Been raining here for the last 2 days too! Crazy weather this year, deer should be moving once this front blows through. Feeling ansy to get out there, checked my TC the other day and was really ticked to see the people from the acreage walking up & down by my stand tresspassing! Last year that lady gave me chit for hunting there!!!!! Go figure, at least they never took my TC & stand, must be why the deer are so uneasy there ,plus they have a pitbull and a beagle that crap all over by my stand site. got 6 1/2 sit's to get it done ,looking forward to the 28th till the 31'st, that's when the big deer are up roaming. I have always found and shot my best deer that week, took my 192 on the 1st of December!
