Who's hunting today in honor of our fallen veterans? I took this morning off. I was completely exhausted from yesterdays bonanza. My legs still feel like jello! Will be back in the stand tonight for sure!

Wish I was today. Finally had to go back to work today. Suppose to be getting 1-2 inches of wet snow.
Heading 2 hours north tonight to hunt tomorrow. With temps being a high of 33 and wet snow today think i should try to hunt food source? Or im thinking the bucks are in lock down period right now so should I try to hunt thick cover? whats your guys thoughts. going in blind on 4,700 acres is something completly new to me just trying to narrow down some areas.

Doctors visits and work this week followed by rifle season until Thanksgiving. Won't see anything outta me anytime soon. The orange army usually fouls up the late season hunting as well.

Dang! Stuck in the office. If I would have known yesterday today was veterans day and a cold front was going to move through I would have hunted today instead of yesterday. Call for a bit of snow here tonight! Going to try to play hooky tomorrow and sit all day! Tomorrows high here is 39! That is 20+ degrees cooler then it has been. Wind is supposed to be out of the north at 10 mph! Awesome day to be in the stand!

Oh crud! I forgot all about those! I sidetracked with family and hunting. When was that? You are more patient then I am! I would have said something a long time ago. Let me see if I still have them buried in e-mails!.

    Another No Show Day
Wow I don't know what to say, 5 does ,all unattended. No bucks following them either, nothing comming to the rattle, or calls. This is weird, guys on 2 sides of me are picking them off with shotgun. Heard 2 shots in the morning then tonight was like world war 2. I think I heard 11 different shots. Hoping the bucks on the property aren't hanging out over there! Checked the trail cam and only 1 small buck. Back to the Chicken Farm in the am 3 more all day sit's. Need to see a buck, will make the sit's worth while and not so hard. Calling for a nice day tomorrow with a high of+7c with a low of -12 and a south wind of 5km. Going to the back of the property where I shot my buck 3 years ago, sat there early in September. Good luck men.

Keep at it Youngfart! Something will show up eventually. All day sits are hard with no action though. I understand.

I haven't put tape to antlers. Might try to do Friday. I will get it done and added to the contest at some point. I'm thinking 125-130. Closer to 130 is what I'm guessing. Someone else guessed 125 that saw it in person. Who knows though. I'm not the best at guessing. Last year I thought my buck would be in the 140's and ended up 157.

Sorry I haven't posted much. The rut was awesome, then the weather wasn't. I had a couple encounters and passed on some 110-120 inch deer. I'm worried lockdown is upon us. My buddies and I have been getting skunked consistently these last couple of days. I have kicked up a couple deer at different times, both times it was a buck bedded down with a doe.

Well kinda good news work is slowing with the weather I asked to be laid off the rest of the week. Still a chance I will have to work but it should get me a day or two to hunt NY with the bow. I will shoot any deer I think is 2 years old. There is still hope I can add some points!

    Keep after youngfart
Well today was god but still no shot. Went in blind this morning, got in the stand a little later then I would like. Ended up have a young buck come by. Around 10 seen a buck right around 120 hit the grunt call and he was coming perfect down a trail up wind then turned off. During the middle of the day we drove the trails trying to scout the property a lil ended up seeing two bucks around 120-125 bedded with does. Came across a rub line on trees bigger then telephone poles going along a edge of a swamp. Set up there tonight and could hear some grunts but only seen 3 does. Property was amazing, out of three guys we seen 5 bucks 120-130. Property is loaded with good rubs and does everywhere. Really hope to make it up there again this year.

    Nice coheley665
Well the move almost paid off, thankfully I moved, now I know why I'm not seeing any bucks. Their all bedded down I pushed a good 150 out of his bed right by the stand I was going too,and I was supposed to be in that stand this morning,HAHAHa! figures huh!. It was almost time to stand up for the last hour and as I was turning to face forward there's a 2x2 spike right in front of me @8 yards. Snow was soft from the heat, that's why he got in on me with out me hearing him. Got a few pictures and watched him make a few scrapes and leave. I turned to look back at the feild and their's another, a button buck. The deer must be just finished the chase faze and starting to lock down . This is when all the little guys come out for a look and the big guys who get beat up are looking. Prime time tomorrow or the next day here ,and the weather is calling for warm ,like +5 and -10 to start the days. SO these 2 does I saw unattended both came running when I saw them and were looking over there shoulder as if a buck was on them. The 3 does I saw yesterday had no fear at all of being chased ,they were quite calm. Should be interesting in the next few days, looks like I booked off the wrong week,a week to early! I can hunt Saturday but not Sunday, my wifes Christmas party.:wave:All of a sudden I feel better !

Keep at it. I'm getting my excitement from others hunting the big bad bucks right now. I keep getting more and more pictures lately.
