8 point just ran a doe across field. He then came and stood 15 yards ahead of me. 120ish

What size of buck you wiling to take? Seeing you let a 120 walk! Just curious!
Winds will be out of the west shifting to North by noon which works just fine for 3 of my top 5 bucks location. Low of -9 with chance of light snow. I'm pumped, never felt this way before, good luck guys and shoot straight!
Will report in from my stand during the day. 6 full day sits, could get very tiring if they don't show up!!!!!!!!!

Good luck youngfart. I'm going on day 11 all day sits without seeing the buck I'm targeting. Draining that's for sure. Got two more days so hopefully something works. Calling for 20-25mph winds tomorrow and not much better for Sunday. Talking with a guy right now and might have a sweet spot for Tuesday hunt.

We'll. I didn't blow away. Wind was gusting to 40! Took me a bit of extra time to get setup. Scared to death. The tree a setup was huge and it was still moving all over the place. I did see 5 deer. 2 bucks, 2 does and last unidentified. First buck was before 5pm and the other was last 10 min of shooting light. Both bucks came out of the draw just to my south. They both cut the corner and I never had a shot. The first buck was a old dog with a junk rack. 2nd one was pretty nice. I left my set. Going to maybe try a all day sit Sunday.

Happy with this deer. He isn't going to score great, but I saw the split brow tines and made the decision while he was 10 yards away looking at me. Didn't have much time to look him over. Like i said before still very happy with this deer. I'm guessing 125-130. Shot was good, but I have to admit that I hit him a few inches right as I was aiming. Not sure what happened. I'll take the luck and be thankful.

Fun hunt tonight. Easy blood trail to follow. He was alive when we found him. Like an idiot I didn't have my bow. Went back and got bow and he was dead when we returned.

Youngfart....I was hoping to wait for something 140 or bigger. As you can see I didn't have that patience. Like I said. Still very happy and had a great day hunting.

Good luck to everyone this weekend. I told everyone a buck would go down this weekend. Didn't know it would be me.

    Heck yeah congrats Justin.
Went out this morning in 25mph winds only seen 2 doe, see them every time I sit that stand. Got down at 10 pulled a couple cards and headed back to the house. Gonna sight in the muzzleloader, typically take it out opening day of gun. Checked the cards and got a good kick in the you know what. Have a stand on a creek I between fields and corn on the neighbor property about 100 yards away. Haven't got pictures of turkey foot in a few weeks and wouldn't u know it he was 15 yards from the stand a hour before dark. And again 10 min after dark the next day. Crappy part is I almost say that stand that night he was out in daylight. Winds are good for it for tonight so gonna give it a try. Now the question is since its open field besides the corn 100 yards away should I use the decoy or not? What u guys think? And if so buck or doe ?

Use a doe decoy & good luck. Had 2 does come by at 45 yards, no shot. Nothing trailing them.

Buddy killed a buck this morning. Everyone I'm talking to is seeing a ton of deer movement in this area.

    Good luck out there.

Going to hit that new spot again in the morning for a all day sit.. Wind is going to be all over the place. NE, N, S, SE... Not a really good scenario for that stand.

I may need to move the stand to the west if I see a similar pattern as I did the first night. Attaching pic with travel routes of what I observed.

There hasn't been that many times I've been scared to be in a tree. Last night was one of them. I could barely get my sticks on the tree I was in last night it was so big. It was still moving all over the place. Several times I thought my bow was going to fly off the hook!
