Sorry guys, lost him. I am pretty upset with myself about it. Waited 4 hours, tracked for 5, then after he doubled back on his blood and the sunset, I could not make heads or tails of which trail was which. This is a hard one for me to swallow, but as I was leaving I could hear the coyotes off in the distance coming in, so I am sure he is gone by now.

Heck Turk ,I feel for ya! Those prairie dogs need to eat too! It'll pass,as you'll get over it! Suck it up and pull up your trousers and get back at it. If you bow hunt, your bound to lose one sooner or later. All in good faith Turk, you'll learn and become that much better at what we do.
    Heck
Guys like Frenchbrit don't make me laugh,I really find them anoying, anyone who comes into another's room and thinks that his team is the best , has some kind of thing stuck up his butt that makes him want to get it out! I don't deal well with aholes and to me he's one of them. That's just my feeling.

Sorry to hear about this Turk. It's not a matter of if you are going to lose one, it's a matter of when! You just need to go the next 10 years or so without losing another! It's prime time! Keep after them! Everything happens for a reason!

I was just concerned that if you would have a crash, you wouldn't be able to hunt. Your team needs you

This weekend something big will fall somewhere on our team. I got that old fashion feeling. I have some more trailcam pics of different deer. I'll leave it at that.

Getting some last minute work done. After that I am headed to NE for a day trip! Going to try a new property. Suppose to be quite breezy so I should be able to sneak in there and hang my set. Should be an adventure!

Been just a frustrating year so far for me. Hunted for an hour or two every morning this week before except today. Well, wouldn't you know it, my dad text me and said he saw a shooter chasing two does back and forth in front of one of my stands. Now normally this would get me excited except for the fact that slug season opens tomorrow..

I will most likely not be bow hunting at all until slug closes next Sunday. Mainly for the safety factor. It is unreal how dangerous it gets around here during slug season.

Only positive is no one hunts (although almost every year someone trespasses  ) all of our ground for slug so it tends to be a safe haven for the deer once they figure that out.

    Time to kill some honkers.

I'd be policing my private ground running those gun hunters off! I do understand your safety concerns. I will say I have had some of the best hunting during gun season. Especially on private land as they push deer where they aren't normal at. One year I hunted a property that backed up to some pub ground. I had over 30 deer pass my stand that day! I hate to wear head to toe orange but there are benefits!
