Saw 7 bucks this morning. Got up late. Saw three on the walk in. One was nice and other two were small.

Once I got in stand I saw 2 smaller 8 points come by. Not close enough to shoot. Then I saw the buck I have a video of with the taller browtines. He started coming towards me on edge of the timber. Ended up bedding down. Probably 60 yards away. Small buck came through and got him up. Bigger buck went away from me. He is right on the edge of shooting or not. Got to look at him pretty good. He ia nice buck, but would be awesome if he made it to next year. I grunted at him to try to get him to come by. Got the small buck to come right by my stand.

Finally had a real good sit in terms of deer activity. Had a good morning. They are picking corn rest of the day so I won't be out tonight. It is also supposed to get up to 21 mph wind. I'll pass on high winds and combining.

Good luck to anyone out the rest of the day.

Posting while I have limited service. Had a 10 pointer at 5 yards last night. Look like a solid 140+ deer. I passed. Probably regret it later. Wind is blowing at a solid 25 mph. Trying to come up with a game plan for this afternoon!

My target buck bedded down 50 yards away down wind, took him a hour before he bolted.

Made a quick sit this morning before heading to the tractor. Saw 4 does that were running but nothing chasing any of them. Good day to be in the tractor, 25 mile an hour winds now with gusts of 45 in the afternoon.

I was wrong, it was the big 9. He came back at 40 yards, I was at full draw but a shot never presented itself.

    Well It Stopped Snowing
I've just finished switching over the camo and we got about a foot of snow from yesterday till now. Bucks should be up and freshening there scrapes if the rutt has started which I think is still early. Time in a stand will tell. Sounds like someone will nock one down today from our team, Winds are out of the north @20kms and -4. I'm just hoping to see a good buck, that would make my sits worth my while. Getting in a negative state of mind with hunting, which is not good for me! I still got all of next week to sit!

Hunting the farm with a buddy that I had trail cam pics of the big ten in velvet. He is in top field I'm in lower. He said he just had a 160 in front of him at 42 yards. He didn't feel comfortable with the shot so he just walked by. Unfortunately not in my direction. He video'd it so I'll try and post a pic later.

Well today was pretty good for the most part. Real slow morning with just seeing 1 buck and 3 does right in the first hour of light. About 11 seen a few does come out into the winter wheat then 2 small bucks started burning them around a little bit. After about 5 min slick showed up and pushed the other bucks off. We watched them for probably a good half hour then they went back into the wood lot. Ended up seeing another buck around 2 running across the field. Have one picture of him and he has a good 4 point side then a spike on the other. At about 430 the farmers dad thought it would be a good idea to come work on his gun blind and put some bait out in the wood lot where we seen slick this morning. Ended up bumping 5 does out but who knows how many jumped into the corn. Gotta love people that wait till prime time to go out in the woods :tu:

    Got Out This Afternoon
On my walk in I pushed out a doe and her fawn, Got in by 2:30 and started calling and did a few sequences of rattling. I got my TC Sd card and freshened up the 3 scrapes that were there. Looked around and saw brown @4:30, was a small doe and I stood and drew. Held for a minute and notice another one come across the feild towards it. Same size and then another, but only bigger. I let off and waited to see if it was a buck ,it wasn't ,it was moma. Dang another fawn deer I draw on. Nothing following or no new tracks from the storm. Bucks will be busy the next few days freshening up there scrapes. Should be timing this just right come Saturday till Thursday. The does are coming back, so that's a good sign and got one good buck hitting that scrape. Got my hopes up at least now! That's a positive and should make my sits a little easier to stay. Good luck guys, sounds like everyone is starting to get on deer. Now for the 5 day wait!!!!

Sorry I've been absent here. Good to see everyone enjoying hunting! Seen a nice buck this morning, about 120". He got a pass. Too early for me, I know things are going to start heating up pretty soon. On vacation this week, so hopefully something hits the ground. Last Saturday I doubled up on two nice does. I apologize for not submitting them. Don't worry I am almost certain I'll get another doe. I was alone and a buddy was coming to help me get them out. Once he showed up, excitement took over and forgot the pics. The first doe i shot a little high, but she piled up about 50 yards from the shot. The second one, I thought I smoked her and followed the blood trail about 100 yds. When I found her she was laying there looking at me. So I shot her again. Minutes later she died.

Nice work. You are going to have plenty of meat in the freezer. Next for you, big buck. Then another doe. Not necessarily in that order. Good luck.

    GreatWhite -
I just saw the forecast this morning and took Wednesday off as well, ha! Let's hope this snow actually comes (they are calling for 4-6 by me) and Wednesday morning there are so many deer moving that it looks like cattle being herded!

I sure hope so! I'm not ready for snow yet but anything to help me out before slug season opening Saturday I am all for! Plan to pull cards Tuesday night to help me decide which stand to hunt. Good luck!

Just looked at weather again and it's 1 to 3 inches Tuesday day and 2 to 4 Tuesday night. Sure love to be blood trailing a deer in the snow on Wedneday!

Going out tomorrow morning before rain hits here. Out of town tomorrow night and then hopefully back in time Wednesday to sit at night after rain stops. Supposed to rain tomorrow afternoon to Wednesday afternoon. I have a feeling Wednesday night will be real good.

Spot showers tomorrow and storms likely Wednesday. I just put a roof together and will have to find a way to pack it in with all my other gear. All my sits are all day sits so I pack a lot of crap. Bucks are in the seek phase here and I'm seeing a lot of bucks moving mid day. The doe's aren't ready yet but the bucks sure are.

Had a good sit tonight. Saw two shooters one I have trail pics of big wide 8 point he was about 80 yards and wouldn't cross a creek to come to calls. Called the other buck from same spot he walked the creek to a crossing and came to 35 yards was in thick stuff tho never got a good look at em but he had a bunch of antler. Looks like I need to hang a stand on the other side of the creek.

Had the bow drawn back on this guy yesterday, just couldn't find a shooting lane between all the brush. Maybe tomorrow.
