well boys, I wanna cry right about now! I had a spike come in earlier on, he looked like he was starting to get wound up so I figured that looked pretty promising. At last shooting light, I had a really nice buck (for NY) coming right in on a string behind me. I picked up my bow, because he was headed right for a big window I trimmed out the other day when I was setting up the stand. Wouldn't u know it, he stopped and looked at a couple small scrapes and turned around to head the other way. So at this point, I`ve got this buck at 10 yards quartering away. I slid my bow around the tree and pulled back, got the pin anchored, and fired. Well, to my dismay the arrow hit a limb that I didn't notice and I had a clean miss. I`ll tell ya, this has been a season from hell for me!

I was gonna sleep in tomm morning, but I guess I`d better get out there and sit. I cant hunt the afternoon, takin my daughter out for her first Halloween. From what I`v seen in the past couple days, the bucks are on the move, maybe tomm will pay off. If not I will be on stand in OH Friday afternoon. As soon as I shot, the nockturnal showed me what happened so I knew it was a clean miss. I was so bent out of shape, I grabbed my bow and took off without unhooking it from my pull up cord lol

It happens, woodsy. Atleast you know the deer are around with a lot of rut left! It is better for the clean miss than getting a poor hit, trust me. A bigger one is lurking around for you.

Aren't lighted nocks amazing? This is my first year using them. Without them, you might have never found your arrow and you would be wondering if that deer is hit or not.

I hear ya boof. As for the lighted nocks , I've been using them for years and wouldn't hunt without them. U can see the shot , and finding the arrow is as easy as it gets.

In the past I had somehow found every arrow I have ever fired. It never came easy, though. I would always spend forever walking around looking for them. It was stressful wondering if the arrow had blood and if you would ever recover your broadhead/arrow. This last time I fired with my Nockturnal on, I could see the arrow from my treestand. Talk about convenient.

That's some funny chit right there, did it pull your bow out of your hand. That I can say I have never done in 23 years of bowhunting. 8 sits and still no bucks,I did hear a couple fighting at the other end of the bush after I rattled at 5:15. Night hunts are out after this week due to daylights saving time on Sunday. You Americans probably say what to daylight savings, well we lose an hour of daylight so Instead of it getting dark @615, now it gets dark @5:15 and during the peak of the rutt ,it'll be dark at 4:30. So I'll only be hunting weekends and the week of November 8th through to the 14th. Is there any pressure??? Yes because this is the 1st year that I haven't seen loads of bucks, their there but not in daylight. It'll happen though.

We are familiar with daylight savings time, Rocky. I think Arizona is the only state that doesn't recognize daylight savings in the US. I hate it. Doesn't it make more sense to leave the time as is? With daylight savings daylight is like 8-5, without it would be 9-6. That seems like it would bring more daylight to everyone. Oh well, no one else seems to question it.

You fellas celebrating Halloween tomorrow? It seems like every year someone around where I am from shoots a deer on Halloween night.

I'm celebrating Halloween with an all day sit. I shot buck last year on Halloween. The stand I'm going to hunt has only been hunted once ever and that was last Halloween. It should be good. I'm guessing the corn is still in, but that could help me too.

Drove around last night and saw several bucks and looked like quite a bit of movement going on. It is starting around here. Now just hope to see one today. Last year I saw 7-8 bucks on Halloween.

Someone send me a text if something fantastic happens. I don't want any more bad mojo before my 4 day trip back to Nebraska. All serious I get very little cell service up there so send me a text if someone gives a deer a dirt nap. Packing the trailer today. Leaving tomorrow.

Raining a little bit. Glad I brought rain gear. One doe so far. She liked smelling my lifeline. Here's the view from my office for the day.

I like how you think! :p Unfortunately I am not sure that would fly in the contest. Talk about bragging rights though!
