Wow that wind was brutal yesterday! Didn't see a damn thing . This has gotta be the worst season I've ever had. Everyone I talk to around here is having the same misfortune. Headed back into my other spot tonight , a buddy is gonna hunt with me so we can cover some more real estate.

Your archery season is over in New York state in 3 days?????? What the heck kind of season is that? When did it start? July? That's crazy, are you bow hunting when you go to Ohio ? Good luck there if you are, good luck anyways ,LOL even if you aren't.
That's a 1st for me, I forgot to set my alarm this morning for my hunt so that's why I'm on my computer, glad I didn't go anyway becuse the wind has got the trees bent over in my backyard and it's snowing. Might get out if it calms down for this evening.

It closes mid November. I'm in the same boat as mark , I think work is gonna shut down my hunting for this week. But I'm headed to Ohio also on Thursday, leaving at midnight

So the season is over before the rutt starts there? Dang that's brutal, why can't you's hunt the gun season too with your bow? Most places allow this. Gun starts here in Mid October till the 30th of November and we mix both all the time and you don't even need to ware orange if your bow hunting! So are you bow hunting when you go to Ohio too?

Saw a small two year old this morn that was it. Our best weeks here Rocky are last week of October and first two weeks of November which is still archery season. My week of archery in Ohio will burn up the last to weekend of archery in ny. The next chance I'll have to hunt in ny it will be gun season. Our deer in ny are pretty pressured it's not a easy task to kill a good buck here. So I don't take the bow out gun season. I usually get my chances in Ohio at a good buck 140''+ and I'd much rather be in a stand there than ny.

Hi Guys! Congrats Turkish621! Did you post your pics and info on the scoreboard? Get them up there as soon as you can so that can be included in the next scoreboard update!

Apparently south / south east Nebraska is still in the dark ages. Closest town was full of horse and buggies (Amish). No cell phone coverage up there. My hunt was crap yesterday. Wind was nasty! I didn't wear enough close and about froze my butt off. I had some yahoo come in about 3 PM and start cutting wood a few hundred yards from me. Then at 5:01 I had another bow hunter walk in on me! Lastly, my hunting buddy got lost and couldn't find his way out of there. Scared me to death. Last communication I had with him was at 1 PM. I thought he had been seriously injured. 1:30 min after dark I found him! He thought he was going to have to sleep in the woods!

Didn't make it to the woods this morning. The Cardinals in the World Series is the only thing that trumps hunting and it turned into a late night. It's happened a lot in the last 10 years.

Rocky , mark pretty much summed it up. Its hard enough to hunt with a rifle during rifle season around here. Lots of pressure , and whatever rut activity is going on (which isn't much, buck/doe ratio is way out of whack) is typically at night.

That's why I missed my morning alarm to hunt today, just plain out forgot to set the alarm, was almost asleep watching the game last night. So glad the Cards won, tough way to lose but it was the right call! Tired of the Amish looking Sox ,LMAO ,Dang they need to trim those beards at least.

Yea , it usually does the trick! My ol man just stopped over with his SD card. He had a few pics of a buck that's in the 120s and a smaller 9 pointer. For this area they are both really good bucks. Gonna be headed in a little late today , gotta wait for a sitter but I figure better late than not at all

My view for the night. This is the field we finished combining last night. Neighbor is combining 500 yards away right now. No deer yet and wind is ticking me off.

Dad got 9 point buck this morning. Nothing big, but he was really happy to get it. Meats all boned out in fridge. He said.....lucky for you I got one so now you can go after big ones without me screwing it up. After last years misses he is 2-2 this year. His confidence is back and that is great to see.

Small bucks were moving this morning. Activity has picked up after wind finally died down. Pretty nice cold morning for a sit.

Didn't hunt tonight because of working on deer, helping buddy wit b permanent stand, and other stuff I had planned mid day. The spot I was going to hunt tonight had someone cutting wood above the crick so I'm glad I didn't go there tonight. Would have been a waste.

Good luck in Ohio when you guys head there. That short season might explain some peoples dislike of guns and deer hunting from other parts of the country.
