I've never seen activity change from a bean field being combined due to the fact that they can't hide in or on the edge of it anyways. Corn; absolutely. Every single stand I have this year has corn nearby and not a single bean field so things won't be changing for me yet.

Only saw a couple does tonight. The bean field I am hunting over is flat as a golf course right now. I walked around and there is still plenty of beans to be eaten. I just don't see the deer using his field much this week with other fields near by having corn and beans in them yet. I'll let the area cool off and get back to this field in a week or so.

Tomorrow morning I will be hunting around home. After that I'll be headed to western SoDak. A lot of hunting to be done this weekend.

Ordered a bunch of sausage making kits yesterday hopefully for future deer. Probably going to make a bunch of jerky out of these two though. Possibly some dried deer out of the some of the big roasts. Loin will be on my grill all weekend. My dad loves that I started making all of this on my own. I actually enjoy doing it quite a bit.

Good luck out there this weekend. Does or bucks....whatever you are after.

Who else is hunting this weekend? I am doing laundry right now! Only time I enjoy laundry is when I am washing my camo. I hope to be in the field tomorrow early afternoon. I have a trail cam to check, a stand to take down, and another to put up. I hope the corn is still standing! Last time I was out I was starting to see some fields cut. If the field is cut I am going to have to go to plan B!

Wind is perfect and the temps will be good. Only thing I have going against me is this weekend is a early rifle antlerless only 2 day season. So I have to wear orange and I may run into some hunters. This is the first season the DNR has done this and I hope the last!

I need to check a couple of cams again, been 2 weeks and need to replenish the Raxx and hopefully see a deer this time. Calling for a south west wind @ 5km other wise calm but the right wind for this location. Hopefully I don't bust to many on my way in, normally their a little north during the dark till they make their way back into the bush. Then they proceed through my funnel and along the south fence which borders private homes. A lot of these acreages are bedding areas also for the deer. Need to go catch a few innings of the Cardinal Dodger game then hit the hay. Good luck in the afternoon Heck. Calling for -5 for the morning, should be good for a good frost on the walk in. Also it's the Canadian Thanks Giving Weekend, Ya! That means I get to eat turkey 2 days in a row:hail:. LOL

Just walked into a skunk on the way to the stand, I usually don't carry a flashlight but luckily did this time. At five feet he didn't even raise his tail.

Very uneventful morning for me. Starting pouring right at shooting light, and kept up for an hour after that. I stuck it out in hopes something would come by after the storm, nope. I think the rain is done for the day, this evening should be better. Good luck guys.

Didn't make it out this morning. Started cutting up meat at 6 last night and got done with everything at 1 am. Seasoning and packaging. I was guessing it would take 4 hours. I have two huge bags of jerky marinading. 5 pounds of dried venison roasts curing. Loins are marinating and will be ready for tonight.

Kind of feel like I cheated myself this morning. Oh well. The sleep was needed.

Going to check cams mid day. Put up ground blind on other farm. Brush it in. Put up trailcam on other farm. Only have two trailcams or I would have had one there already. Start some jerky on dehydrator when I get back.

Laundry was done last night and I do enjoy it. Very weird.

Got too much rain to be in the field but was way too windy today so went duck hunting instead. Ended up with 7 honkers, 6 specks (which is very uncommon in MN) 12 teal, 6 mallards, 1 spoonbill and 5 pintail. Heck of a hunt! Will be in the stand tomorrow.

    Awesome Morning Hunt
Got in about a 1/2hour to late for my liking but went in anyway as I needed to check my cams. Curious to see if Double Dx4 is around yet! Got in @ 7 am and then the sun came over the tree tops by 8:15, then the bush came alive. Had an animal coming straight to me but I couldn't see it, it walked like it was heavy. Came into about 30 yards and walked around some bush and just out of my sight, did this twice then walked back the same way and another deer blew at him.He couldn't have scented me as I wasn't in their way for my scent to get to him.
The geese are starting there migration south as the skys were like out of a movie with the sound of geese. Ducks were flying and the yote's were a howlin @ 8:05. The chickadee's came in by 8:20 and it was like being at an Opera of wildlife. At 10:15 I got caught playing with my phone trying to get Tapatalk to work and I look up and a doe is @14 yards eating leaves. I got up and she walked by me on my blind side at 10 yards, just as I draw another doe blows at me from 20 yards away behind me too. I let off and stay as still as I can, everything calms down and the deer move away behind me and 2 more are right beside me .There fawns though so I just watched as they followed momma. Dang phone, I would have had a good nanny on the ground if I weren't screwing around.
I walked out and checked both TC and changed out the sd cards and as I was exiting the bush ,my #1 buck, Double D x4 got up and bounded away, SOOOOO glad to see he made it through the winter and never got shot last year! Best hunt so far of the year for me, I saw deer for the 1st time. HaHaHa! Might get out tonight. Oh yeah nothing to talk about on the TC's

Sounds like good mornings greatwhite and youngfart.

Got cameras checked. Set up ground blind and camera on other farm. One descent buck on video but I can't see the rack very well. Need to zoom in. I'll upload when I get time. Going out shortly. Started some jerky in dehydrator and it smells great.

Also put some scrapemate out for a mock scrape near my primary stand until rut. No camera on it, but I've had good luck starting them mid October. Might be a little early.
