Going out tonight with my dad. Hopefully the big buck I saw on first sit comes back around. I would really like my dad to get something. He had a rough year last year hunting deer with some complete misses. Hoping for an easy shot for him to get his confidence back up. He has shot more this year.

Afterwards we will be grilling up some tenderloin and backstraps with some friends. It might be the first time I'm going to be excited for it to get dark so I can eat some fresh loin.

I might try hunting a different piece of property this weekend to get another doe down. Trying to stay out of my normal good area until closer to the rut. This property is also good, but I have to hunt from a ground blind. I'm 6'5" so ground blinds aren't my favorite. Never shot anything out of it. Might put up ground blind and brush in this afternoon before heading to other normal hunting spot.

This is about all I can show, if this one gets used for web cast video i will give you guys the link for the whole hunt. But the first time she was at 10 yards and spooked when I tried stopping her, she then came back out at 33 yards.

Love the lighted nocks. I bought extra last year when they were on sale. They are too big for new arrows though.

I slowed it down for the arrow going through. It is amazing how much they can move in short period of time. Looked like a real good shot.

Yeah they are pretty sweet, I like the design that bloodsport has for theres cause you can practice with the set up but not have the light.
Haveing a lighted nock really helped me out on this one, when I looked at the arrow it wasnt your bright red like you would expect from that shot. It had a look to it like a gut shot would but with no guts. So being able to replay and see forsure where it hit was nice. when you play it real slow its crazy how much she ducked but really I got lucky she did or I would of shot under because the shot was low as it was. Took out very bottom of both lungs and two slices into the heart.

I had safely assumed you had planned on her ducking perfectly into your arrow. How far of shot was that?

Well boys, I am pretty devastated. I just got a picture message of a guy holding the monster deer I have been chasing. I'll get more details once I hear them. He is definitely going to score a lot better than I had expected.

Probably his twin. Go shoot his brother.

Buddy had that happen last year to a 198 inch deer. He ended up shooting a 160 inch deer he had never seen on camera. Might bring some other big deer around with him gone.

In the stand , I can hear the acorns dropping! I should see some deer tonight. They aren't eating in the fields anymore due to all the nuts on the trees. My buddy is set up in another good spot 150yds or so from me.

You need an acorn cracker. If you guys haven't seen this go to cabelas and read comments. It is hilarious.

Supposed to make deer calm and relaxed by the sound of an acorn cracking.

Shot was 33 yards I guessed 30 and held right on the heart with my 30 pin. I was in a akward position trying to get around the camera, but I will always aim low for the duck so if they do it will hit mid body.
Man thats killer i pray i dont get that message or pic. keep us updated
    Good luck tonight

That deer was skidish from the get go. I would have planned on her dropping for sure.

I looked for the acorn cracker and couldn't find it! :)

    Bummer! Pictures boof!

Let us know what happens Woodsy! Best of luck!

Harvest is in full bore here now so I'll be lucky to get out more than once a week/weekend for a couple weeks. Hoping to get in more than I think though.

Heck- yeah she came down the trail I walk in on and was smelling the ground the whole time which is probably why she spooked when I tried stoping her the first time. I always aim on the heart just incase of drop but I am guessing I was a little lower then that this time since she dropped and I still hit her low. So really her dropping helped me this time
