There is only one time a year I love to do laundry. That's the night before the deer season opener! Woohooo... I am going to do a evening sit tomorrow. Going to try to be in my stand by late afternoon. Training day!

Just got back from my first sit. I had about a dozen turkeys make their way through and a big bodied deer walked by at 20 yards 5 minutes after legal light. I had just packed everything up and was about to climb down the stand when I saw him (or maybe her) walk past the spot I had been watching for 3 hours. Oh well, at least I know I was in the right spot.

Single digits?:jaw:We got down to 37 the other night but thats the coldest so far

Well went the cameras where a bust yesterday just small bucks, does, and a ton of turkeys. Did find a rub and scrape line already though so im gonna head out tomorrow and hang a set there tomorrow. Finding a few scrapes and rubs just gets me even more excited for are season to start. Did catch a pretty cool pic of a hawk or owl hard to tell.

Back from Idaho. No one in our group got an elk. One friend passed up a shot on a spike. I had a small 5 x 5 within 20 yards but no shot and it got dark. Got real close to another bull, but never saw him. Thick cover out there. Nothing like tv. Ha

Out of 4 of us we all got close to killing a bull, but either the wind changed, got dark, etc, etc. Elk are smart creatures. I'm looking forward to deer hunting more than ever. Hunting hard for 7 straight days is draining in the mountains. Can't wait to sit in a stand and deer hunt. Charging batteries for trailcams to check either tonight or tomorrow. Hoping to see something to get excited about. If not, the rut usually brings them in on our farm.

Good luck to those that have started or are starting. I still have a couple weeks.

Another new buck showed up for me. This is one I would proudly tag if given the chance. We will see what deer are sticking around when the season opens in a couple weeks.

This is the most potential shooters I have ever had going into October. I pray one of these deer walks by this season.

First night was a blank more or less. It poured from 6 to 8 pm. Forecasters never get it right ...

If it was the rut yes but in the early season ill sit in rain but not a down pour.

Kinda surprised that the only deer killed so far are does. Hopefully I will be able to put one down this weekend, friday its suppose to rain all day then drop 10 degrees so saturday is shaping up to be a good day.

Got pictures looked over from pulling last night. A couple nice ones on video. Lots of little bucks around. Tons of turkeys. 3 coyotes. Plenty of coon and a few possum. The cameras were out since 8/26 without being checked. One camera with video was dead as of yesterday and the other camera's card was full as of yesterday. Couldn't have planned on that good of timing.

Reloaded cards and new batteries. 1500 pictures on camera and quite a few videos on other trailcam. The videos show the best bucks that I have on film. Quite a bit of fun checking the cameras again. Last picture is of a weird small one. I have a lot of pics of some smaller ones.

My freak deer has more going on than I thought. He has visited three times now, once right before sunrise.

Here is a recent picture of him.
