24/7 suits me just fine guys. Sorry it's taken me so long to chime in. Things have been pretty crazy around here lately. My name is Johnny and I'm from West Tennessee. I'll be 51 next month. I retired from the Navy in May 2008 and have worked at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since then. I'm sure most of you know that, though, after the fundraiser and auction I had for my upcoming half-marathon in December. I'll be hunting in Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Kentucky this year. Some of our spots in Kentucky show real promise this season but any one of the places I hunt can produce a wall-hanger. I've hunted all my life but this will only be my eighth year bowhunting. I'm looking forward to getting this season started.
ill vote for just passing thru also. seems like we have a name and a voluntold captain, now we just need to get in contact with our missing people.
Sorry about being late, I've just been getting settled in as I just moved into college. I am a freshman at NC State studying Wildlife Biology. I hunt family land about an hour off campus. While NC isn't known for but deer, there are usually several mature bucks killed on the property each year. Last year I killed four with a bow, so hopefully I can get it done again. In fact, hopefully on opening day I can kill a buck over 20 inches wide that I have patterned. Looking forward to opening day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How is everyones tag situations? i know some states have didnt regulations, what im asking if everyone is able to shoot a buck and a doe. In my county in ky i can shoot 4 deer; 4 does or 3 does and a buck.
In Illinois I can shoot one buck and as many doe as I want. I am chasing 5 or 6 good shooter bucks. But I hunt to feed my family if it's a good buck that's a bonus!
Biggest ive seen on the property i hunt is probably in the 130s, its someones elses land they let me hunt. i also can hunt fort knox which in the past years have put down multiple deer around 200, i just hate having to wait in line to draw a hunting spot on there. i work on fort knox so i get to pick before the general public but only after active duty and retirees.
I have 3 tags, one doe only(for early antlerless season), and the other two can either be bucks or does. Though one is a restricted tag, meaning if it's a buck it must have 4+ points on a side. The other buck/doe tag is anything goes. I am fine with being captain as long as any of the other guys don't want to captain. I have the time to do it that's for sure but its up to you guys.
I have 3 tags one buck and 2 doe...I hope to tag out this year!! I haven't had really good buck pics this year but once rut comes in there everywhere on my property!!! The average size is about 130 so hope I can stick one this year..
Nice buck cgersty! I'm fine with 24/7 as team name and Just Passin Thru as captain. I have a buck and doe tag in PA and a buck and doe tag in Kansas,,
I have 2 tags. I can shoot 2 bucks, a buck and a doe, or 2 does. If I shoot 2 bucks, I can only get 1 of them before rifle season (Nov.15th - Nov.25th) or both of them after rifle season. Does can both be shot before rifle season. I will probably shoot the first thing I get an opportunity at (probably a doe - meat in the freezer) and then hold out until the rut to try for a buck.
