Here is the story behind Team 23's name, Team "Betty Crockett". This started several years back in deer camp in Pike co ILL. Everyone was so involved in killing HUGE deer that it got where hunting wasnt as fun as it used to be. We always had a bet made at the beginning of season who would kill the biggest buck. It made it to competative, we would bring in new people and they wouldnt be able to shoot a deer under 150" and they may have never killed a buck before, it wasnt really fair to them, we had a strict 150" rule on the farm. So in 2000 I shut the farm down to hunting for one year and we would all hunt public ground, we would still have the bet, but instead of the P&Y or B&C scoring system, I came up with the Betty Crockett scoring system. You took the deers body weight and then added inches of antler if it had any, no size restictions on public, so if a guy killed an 8 pointer that weighed 185# and had 120" of horn it scored 305. Boy was it funny walking into the local wal-mart or archery shop and talking about deer that scored 200 or 255. It was great, It was FUN again. That is the origin of the Betty Crockett Scoring System!! In case you all wanted to know..
Better let the team know how you guys are gonna score your deer cause your gonna need all the help you can get!
