When does everyone's season kick off? Ohios opener is Sept 30th. My goals this year are the same as they have been the past few years. 1. Don't overhunt. Choose my time wisely in the woods. 2. Shoot something I'd be proud of. I passed on a good buck last year and a couple folks thought I was crazy. But if he doesn't make me stand up and shake, I'm not gonna shoot. I've shot enough decent bucks and I'm in search of one now that I'd be proud to hang on my wall for years to come. I don't want to be looking saying...wonder what he would have been had I given him another year. 3. Film it and film it well. I really enjoy the filming and editing and every year since we started our group we've gotten better. We're just trying to capture the story and the joy of hunting. So my goal is to do that on a higher level than I did last year. I watch a lot of hunting videos and I take notes on what speaks to me and how they incorporate their b-roll footage. Those are the basic goals I have. Can't wait for the end of September! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Mine is the same as yours. I'm wanting to catch my hunts in time this year. I'm going next weekend to the lease an shoot a javelina that are hammering my feeders lol an running my deer off. I just got a tactacam 4.0 an really liking it. Also trying the grim reaper carnifours for this hunt to see how they perform Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Opener is Sept. 30 not sure how much I'll get to hunt before Oct 23 Training for Marine Marathon, moving into new house and area this weekend so hoping to hang a camera and put out mineral on my own property this weekend And then ask the neighbors if I can hunt their adjacent land. Also have a lot of road trips for college football the next 3 weekends as well so we will see what happens. Hope to shoot two does to fill the freezer and then look for something that peaks my interest and is bigger than these three. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
This old bastage decided he was going to do a 5k mudd run obstacle course. Well half way through I felt like a sharp pain in my calf and thought someone nailed me with a big rock. I took a step and that's when I felt the damn pain. I manage to finish the run walking with my right foot point to the right a bit. As for this affecting my hunting season hopefully this will not be a nagging issue. I have been icing the chit out of it and as of Sunday it was doing better. I could actually point my toes and foot more towards my knee cap. Thursday I head out to the great part of our state of Wisconsin in the bluff country. I will be putting out a cam or two and some long range viewing. I will keep you guys posted. T
Finally got a better picture of this guy and it's safe to say he will be on my mind nonstop until September 16th!
Great looking Buck! Finally settling in our new home hoping by Wednesday to be able to lace up the boots and take a look around my property. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
