I was able to shoot this guy last night at about 5:15. I'll get a score on him hopefully later today, there was just a little celebrating going on last night! Here's the story: A little after 5 my dad let me know he just saw a small buck trailing a doe in his stand about 250 yards away from me. Around 5 minutes later I heard a deer walking behind me, turned and looked and I saw a doe walking about 40 yards away. She walked through some brush and looked like she was being pushed by something, about that time I heard the first grunt! I looked back where she had come from and saw him, nose to the ground following her path. He kept grunting while coming in, and stopped in a clearing about 12 yards away slightly quartering away. I got a double lung complete pass through, he ran about 150 yards and piled up! He's by far the biggest buck I've taken with my bow and the fact my kids where able to be up here with me is even better!

Thanks guys, I'm really happy with him! Might be a little while before I can get a score, I forgot to get one before dropping him off at the butcher. So unless he calls me up today before I head home it won't be until Wednesday that I'll be back up here.
Remember that Big Buck I mentioned at 30 yards that was chasing a doe 2 weeks ago. Well my brother got him with a crossbow. I almost sat in that tree but elected to go with the stand where I had seen him. Regardless I am so happy one of us got him. Green score 153 and some change.
Congratulations Travis and P&Y on great deer! Good job getting your first compound bow buck Travis - I remember mine way back in 2016! Lol Congratulations to your brother Peak! Awesome animal shame for our teams sake it wasn’t you. I plan to hunt everyday between now and November 17. I have Nov. 6-10 off work. It’s time to get serious - October was fun and games for sure.

I would say it’s time for more of us to knock down deer. I’m actually pretty impressed with our team and the early success we’ve had! The team I was on last year only killed 2-3 bucks I think. We have done pretty good considering the rut isn’t even here yet! Good luck to everyone else going out in the next couple of weeks! Took a boy out last night for his first ever whitetail hunt. I'll be heading back up today through the weekend to try and take a doe. My dad will be joining me tomorrow afternoon so I'll be trying to get him in front of a good buck too. Hopefully I'll get a call saying that my meat and cape are ready to be picked up so I can get a score and get that buck posted for us! Good luck to everyone else out hunting!
