Holy cow there were a lot of deer tonight. Mostly does but there was one good 3 1/2 yr old mid 130's. Great night! Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Wishing I was hunting this morning fellas. Got to Wyoming and it’s 14 degrees today. Too many last minute details to go hunting... but I have the rest of the week.
Merry Christmas to everyone!!! I just got a call from the taxi that my buck from last year is done! I'm trying to figure out a way to "slip away". We'll see how it goes.
Picked my deer up. I'll post pic's tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
This is my buck from last year. First buck we've taken from our farm. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That's at the taxidermists. The one right behind it is an Iowa deer. We don't have him put up at the house yet. Thank You though!!
I was going to say that’s a heck of a wall you got at your house. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm working towards that. Lol We only have 4 on the wall at our house. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That one is the 4th shoulder mount I have. I have about 1/2 dozen euro mounts that are all in the 100-120 range.
Finally finished my euro mint on my buck from this year. It's a lot of work. Lol. Never done that before. I buried one 2 years ago but half the skull was missing when I pulled it out. I am happy with the outcome. Merry Christmas to all! Thanks for a great year everyone! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums View attachment 90594 View attachment 90628
The best way, if you have time, that I've found is to hang the head in a trash bag in a tree, where the squirrels can't get to it, with holes poked in the bag. The "bugs" will clean that thing off faster than you can imagine. I mean clean!! You might want to bleach the skull if the bright white is what you want but it is amazing how through the little critters are. It beats picking all that meat off.
That's a brute of a buck. I love doing euro mounts myself, adds to the fun of it all. Usually boil mine down with bleach and scrape away until it's all gone then call it good, I personally don't go for the white skull look. Hoping to boil my rifle buck this year down on New Years.
The way I'm describing leaves the skull a "yellowish" color. Thank You on the mount. He scored an even 156. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I added the piece of paper to show the color difference. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Here is my buck from this year. I tried to upload my euro mount pic yesterday but couldn't see it on my end. Second attempt... Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
