No luck guys. At this point I feel like I’ve done everything I could to find this deer. Super bummed to lose it, and a little more so thinking that the shot should be fatal. Gonna try to shake it off and hunt tomorrow for the last day of this park hunt. Been thinking about it all day, and I think I’m done with rage. This is the second deer in the last 5 years that I’ve hit slightly high with them and lost. Not blaming the head, but I didn’t get good penetration on either shot. I think I’ll be shopping for a good fixed head soon.
Look into the Nap spitfire it’s not a fixed blade but it does not have the o ring or collar system. I was using rage brand broadheads with good luck but hated the oring / collars. They would get caught on the smallest things and open up Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I know that feeling sucks. I've shot Rage since they came on the market. I now shoot the Rage Chisel Tip with no complaints. I've never had an issue with the O ring. I don't use the collars so I can't say. One of the guys on our TBI Team just killed a 180 class with the Rage. Hang in there. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Sorry to hear that. Losing a deer stings no matter what it is. Good luck with the rest of your hunt and hopefully that buck shows up with a battle scar.
That’s what I shoot too. I’ve had great experience with them, when you hit the sweet spot they are devastating. It’s been the two marginal hits that have left me wondering. I’m not blaming them at all, just thinking a fixed might help push through a little easier when I screw up. Back in the stand this morning and we’ve got gusts to 40mph. Hoping to ride it out for as long as I can.
I totally get what you're saying. I'm just trying to keep ya from worrying too much about the next shot you take. That stuff gets in your head and can make ya unsure of everything. It has happened to me in the past. Good Luck thi smorning! Smoke 'im! Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
All my previous deer were taken with rage also besides the doe this year and did try the chisel tip this year. ****s has them on sale for $29.99. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well this morning a shooter 7 or 8pt made me in the tree. I just turned my head and he was right of to my left about 5yds away. He trotted off then a 4 pt came after him about 15 minutes later. He got a pass. Trying a different spot tonight from the climber, it’s waiting in the tree for me already. Good luck team. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Didn’t make it too long this morning. Wind was really howling and honestly felt unsafe up there. Pulled my setup as I won’t be hunting tonight. Good luck everyone who is out!

Sorry team. Been away lately. Family life has been keeping me extra busy. I am hoping to get out Thursday and Saturday if all goes as planed. Been over 2 weeks since I have hunted. I am hoping the action has picked up quite a bit! Good luck y'all!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Family comes first for sure. Good luck this week to you and everyone else. I plan to hunt Friday but may have to go catch some stripers on Saturday.

Come on guys, I’m living vicariously through y’all! Head to the doc this morning. Hopefully he’ll take this wad of bandages off my hand. Stitches out next week, if I don’t take them out sooner. Hope to get some more hunting in before gun season.
I'll be living in a tree starting Monday and maybe even Sunday evening if all works out. I'll be in Iowa this weekend for just a little bit. I have 3 weeks off starting the 5th of November. Should see plenty of time on the stand.
