Hunted over that new scrape that showed up a couple days ago and no bucks showed up to it this morning but there is another scrape he keeps working pretty hard. I have to basically step around it on my way into my spot. I’m surprised he keeps working it with me spending quite a bit of time in there he doesn’t seem to be bothered. I also have a mock scrape I put in about 65 yds from the heavily used one and that had some prints in it to. So I was sitting in my ladder stand this morning and gut busted by the same doe that busted me before. So I got fed up took the whole stand down and moved it over about 15yds to a small pine tree for more cover. I’ll will be back in that spot Saturday possibly for an all day set( hopefully it doesn’t take that long the stand isn’t that comfortable). Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I was out tonight for a little while. Nothing but squirrels. May make it out tomorrow evening. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
have inservice all day today so no hunting for me unfortunately. but, we just got a projected 1-3" of snow expected for tomorrow with temps sticking around 30 degrees. can't wait to hunt the snow! will make for an interesting day on stand!
I’m in stand. Not a great wind today but these deer are used to people walking around. Hoping my estrous wick brings the bucks in.
Big storm moving through delaware this weekend. Just a few more days until November 1st and my two week vacation starts. Plan on splitting time hunting between my property in Delaware and my friend's property in Maryland. Good luck to everyone.
Well guys, my season will be taking a 2 week break. Cut this to the bone and got the tendon yesterday afternoon. On all things, a tape measure!
Had a buck come in and offer a broadside shot at 23 yards. I had my sight at 30 thinking it he was farther. Shot and saw the arrow impact high. He ran off and no blood found. Thinking it was a no mans land shot. Just hair at point of impact. Edit- found first blood about 30 yards from the shot. I followed the wrong trail the first time. Trailed it about 60 yards and lost it. It appears to have at least partial pass through. Unfortunately it’s raining now, heading back to last blood with fingers crossed.
Damn sorry to hear. I cut my hand on a soup can lid one time looks similar. Hope it heals up for you quick. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Dang J, sorry to hear that. Poor timing for sure. First morning sit on the new lease. Finding this on the way in didn’t give me a good feeling. Didn’t see a thing.
Nope. The blood just stopped. We walked the area and nothing. Had good not great blood but couldn’t turn anything up. Unfortunately hoping the scavengers help me out tomorrow. They’re calling for more rain tonight that’ll hopefully wash away my scent. We aren’t allowed to move stands.
Driving to my job this afternoon I saw two bucks up on their feet at 1:00. The time is quickly approaching!!! I’ll be out next Friday Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
snow on the ground here and wet for the day. Hovering around 32. My target buck I want passed through at 449am this morning and I climbed into the blind for 600am! This blind is tucked into some blowdowns on the edge of some thick bedding to the east where they're cutting to feed out in an ag field 75 yards to the west of the set. Had my three top bucks all push through in the last two days but all hour before or after sun up or sun down. Sitting all day today!
Ouch! Glad it wasn't about worse. All kidding aside, wrap it in some gauze and tape and suck it up. We need you! I'm totally kidding! Just take care of your hand. We'll still be here when it heals. Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
