just had this bear ranged at 67 yards but didn't close the distance, walked just out of range. If I had the rifle could have dumped him but have to love the challenge of the bow!

Get'em boys! I'm jealous; usually hunting in Wyoming on 9/1 every year but will be headed there on the 13th. I did look at a new place to hunt in Oklahoma this morning. Will know Tuesday if it works out. Love the looks of that new base camp jstephens.

Good morning! I'm headed out to go hang a stand and check a camera I put up a month ago.

Gonna get back after them again this evening. Plan to be in the stand in a few hours. Hoping to get a crack at just about anything. I am only in KY for another 2 days. So... "If it's brown, it's down". Lol.

Well, nothing at all tonight. Been skunked the past 2 days. I have high hopes for the morning though. We shall see...

Going out in a bit to trim up access trail to a stand I think different approach might lead to better success there. Still a month away. Friggin heat advisory today. Got to go soon

So...unfortunately I had some action early in my hunt this morning by bumping several deer out of my corn pile on the way into the stand. They didn't blow right away, but about 15 min later they decided too. Oh well. Still gonna sit for a couple more hours this morning. Then I plan to sit the evening hunt as well. Trying folks...

Well, my early season hunting has officially come to an end here in KY. I tried for 3 days straight, but could not score for us. I will be able to start hunting in Arkansas on the 22nd of September. I also plan to be back in KY during the rut in November. I am still hopeful and on pace to have a good year...just didn't get a velvet buck :(

FE694048-C900-4CE2-965D-4F7E1D1466C4.jpeg Looks “deery” FP. I looked at a 500 acre spot on Saturday that I might have access to hunt on. Will know tomorrow. In the meantime we hammered the stripers today. I have deer hunting on my mind but when season isn’t open and fish are biting, I can’t help myself. We caught 10 fish between 6 and 8 lbs and probably 20-25 total. We quit at 10:00 am. :)
