There will be blood on the ground this weekend for sure. I'm stuck working 3 am to 3 pm today and tomorrow but looking to put the hurtin on geese Monday. Also getting trees cut monday so I can get my other food plot in by the end of the week if all goes well. Looks like we might catch some rain tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed we need it. Good luck to all that make it out this weekend.
Did we ever decide on an avatar? I'm fine with either one.

Had good deer action on the trail cams. Being lazy because of all the hunting today, the thread is 09 01 2013 Moultrie. Ate Doves today on the grill, the hunting was good. Geese stayed away though.

sorry I have not been active, the processor in our laptop fried! I got 5 does last year, so I should be good for at least 50pts. waiting for my new trail camera to come in the mail so I can put it out on our best farm with a possible 200"+ giant!

Pulled my trail camera yesterday and no shooters. Plenty of does and six 1 1/2 year old bucks. Like someone said earlier. As long as the does stay in the area a big boy will show up first week of November. Six days and I will be in Colorado hunting Elk. So glad the season is here.

I have 1 picture of a nice 10pt down there, but have not got another pic since. the other farm had 7 shooters on it and at least 20 does and 7 little bucks. cant wait for my camera, should be here tomorrow!

Ended up with 16 geese yesterday. The loggers were about finished clearing my new food plot site when I got home, now I just need to clean u p the tops and disc it up. Working today then off the rest of the week and hoping to get them planted

I killed a few doves Sunday and spent yesterday cutting up a tree in my front yard that fell during Saturday nights storm. I'm too old and fat for this :)

I did manage to check my camera yesterday. 202 pics in 10 days. Not great, but I'm starting to get some different deer. A couple of young bucks but still no sign of the big 8 I was after last season.

Also was able to put quite a few doves down over the weekend. Felt good to get out and shoot something that wasn't made of clay.
Don't run any trail camera's, but while trimming up the last of our treestands I have seen some really good deer sign. Sept. 28th can't get here soon enough.

Oh and to do a little venting. My cousin decided to get married on Sept. 28th (opening day in Ohio), so my hunt will be limited to the morning. Have all season, but still half the family hunts and you choose opening weekend! Aw well, just stay away from the rut and I can't complain to much.

It was a tough weekend. The baits were getting pounded especially my sons. He had 10 to 12 different bear hitting his bait and everyone had bear coming in they would shoot. This is DIY on public land and I never thought there would be so much four wheeler action and guys shooting guns. The bear just stopped moving :( looks like we have to get back at it on Saturday.

It's slowed down around here. So what is everyone's plan for their first hunt. What kind of setup?

I plan to hunt between a known bedding area and a food plot on my am hunt. Hopefully I see some baldies heading back to bed. My pm hunt will be on a soy bean field about 40 yards from a fence opening. I'm contemplating using a decoy in the bean field. I think it may help pull the deer into the field earlier than usual. Any thoughts or suggestions?
