Team 23- RAXX Pack

Just got the pics posted. She came in all by herself, not sure if mom already ran her off or one of the neighbors got her. Either way good eats are in the near future. Felt good to get one down, I never even shot at one last year.
Looking at the weather I'm thinking tomorrow night and all day Thursday will have them on their feet better than they have been. Might get to go sit on some new property tomorrow depending on the rain. If not I will be back out at my place hoping to catch them on the move. Unfortunately I still don't have any big guys on cam this year. Will post a few from last year just to help get ya fired up

 

Saw this guy last year chasing does but never got a shot. Was the only day he was on the property that we are aware of



Meet Captain Hook, came close to getting on him last year but didn't have the right wind to sit in the ground blind on the days he was in the plot




Not convinced this is the same deer but he is the one I was really hoping to see last year

Just looked at the pics from the ravine down in from my stands and the 4th was a busy day with a number of bucks on their feet during daylight. Also saw that Zeppelin is still alive...now if he can walk in front of me in 4 days I will be a happy hunter

 

It should take a few more does and another buck or two to take this contest. I feel good about this.

I think we need 400 plus points to win.

I just trimmed up and sliced the tenderloins from the two deer my kids shot. They are seasoned and sitting in the fridge...step one for Veni Bites is done

 

Picking up my 2 deer from the butcher today.

4 lbs of jerky
2 lbs of slim jims
5 lbs bol stick with / cheese

Making myself hungry.

 

Yum!! I just bought some Jack Daniels bag liquid marinade to try out on my next deer. The price wasn't friendly, but it smelled so good through the bag I couldn't help myself. Now just to put another doe or my buck down!
Sat last night and didn't see anything, but they are on their feet right now. Brother say a group of 11 does heading across a field about 1/3 mile away from one of our woods. One of the yearlings was a piebald. I think I would be more excited for that deer than a P&Y buck (okay equally excited). Full albino is a dream of mine, but I'll settle for a piebald harvested around home!
