I have a delima, I took vacation from Oct 30 til Nov 12. Now im done, so now what? There is yard work to catch up on but I wish I was in a tree. I will be taking CJ out a couple of times for him to shoot a doe with his bow. He will be down. Then I will take Brieanna out in RIFLE SEASON.

Missed a doe first thing this morning. Thought she was a bit closer than I though and had a clean miss low. Saw two small bucks after that. They didn't seem concerned about anything other than eating acorns. Think we are another week out before the big guys start to roam.
Just got an invite from a friend to go to one of his spots Tuesday afternoon. I know there are some monsters on that property and it hasn't been hunted all year. Excited to see some new ground that hasn't had any pressure.
Will be back at it in the morning, going to take the afternoon off. Just haven't been seeing much in the evenings.

My season has been the complete opposite. All the movement I have seen has been on afternoon sits.

I haven't been seeing much at all yet. Had Monday off. I think I'm gonna cancel it and go to work tomorrow . And ask for this next Friday off. Hopefully the rut will be kicking in. Haven't found much in scrapes yet. just some scratching in the ground, but nothing big

Well had a fun, but disappointing weekend. Shot a nice buck the first morning, but couldn't find him. Trailed him for two miles according to the gps and couldn't believe the amount of blood with no deer. Finally lost blood as he was heading onto private land. I definitly got one lung, but it was still pretty dark when I shot and I found out my clearing had a branch in it that I am pretty sure deflected my arrow low. Part of using a climber, but it is the worst feeling I can get as a hunter.
Definitly prime time here in Ohio. Lots of reports of deer chasing hard. Taking tonight off, but going to hit it hard again this week and weekend around home.

Sorry to hear that PackerFan. Any chance of getting permission to walk the private land?

I had a good weekend in WI despite the fact that I didn't shoot a buck.
I arrived in WI Wednesday night to be in stand Thursday morning only to realize that I started hunting two days early. Thursday and Friday the woods seemed dead; 1 deer in those two days while on stand. Saturday and Sunday however... it was as tho somebody flipped the switch! Saturday morning was incredible I saw 10 deer total (5 bucks) 2 were nice 100-110 inch deer and one 140+ inch buck that never presented a shot. 1/2 mile down the ridge from where I was hunting my buddy saw a nice 140+ 8 pointer. Funny how after a tough couple days, one encounter can reinforce a very important lesson. Never lose hope during the rut!
I'll be in WI again this weekend and I think the woods will be alive and crazy! Good Luck fella's... keep at it!

    Congrats Page!

I'm officially off Nov 16th -25th. If I can't shoot a halfway decent buck that week, then I'm probably not going to this season. :)

Prime time is definitly upon us. I will be hunting every second I can get out there, but the time change makes it hard to sneak out for a few hours after work. Anyone else want to start a petition for no more daylight savings time!!
