I probably wont be back out until the 9th. It is the MN gun season so I will have my Savage 20 gauge slug gun. I will not shoot a doe with it though so I will be trying to still shoot a doe with my bow here. I will be hunting Buffalo County at some point but it probably will be late season muzzleloader over one of our new food plots on film. I do have a Kansas archery tag and will be going the last week of December to hunt a few farms that are not getting pressured and I will be taking full advantage of our attractants since it is legal to bait there :)

Thanks Steve, it was a pretty good shot. 25 yards in a hole the size of a paper plate. limbs and leaves.

i had been watching a 5 pt when this BB walked into view, i picked up my bino's and looked at her / him, and thought ok no horns however i didn't look for nubs, if she comes close i'm wacking her. She started my way and away from the 5 pt. then she turn towards the 5 pt and started to walk in an opening so i MAE she took 1 more step, and i saw the openeing. i said to myself i can make this, i've done it all year. The BB was slightly quartering away from me so aimed for the oppisite front shoulder, and let it fly. The BB ran 15 yards and stoped, and stood there for 4 / 5 seconds. the back legs started to wobble then the front and the BB tipped over.

Then my leggs started to tremble. It felt good to let one fly. I love hearing the THWACK of the arrow hitting the deer. it felt good to feel my legss tremble also. I still love this thing called hunting / Archery.

5 pt not legal to shoot at and he was to far away. 45 - 55 yards away

I am the same way. Usually perfectly calm up to the shot than after I am ready to fall out of the tree! Amazing how even a doe/ BB can still do this.
    Congrats!!

I love hearing stories... it's one of my favorite reasons for being on this site (reminds me of deer camp, gathered around the dinner table)! Congrats Buddy!

I'll be leaving for WI today to hunt hard for the next 4 days, looking forward to using a decoy for the first time.
Here's to hoping I experience the 'trembling' legs this week!! :)

    Congrats Mudshark!

I'm not going to be in the stand again until Saturday. Watching the Cardinals tonight and HOPEFULLY tomorrow night lol. My son has homecoming Friday night so I'll be busy the rest of the week. I have high hopes for Saturday. We have rain in the forecast until Friday night, so hopefully Saturday AM will be good.

Keep up the good work guys! I'm trying my best to get a doe down but can't seem to get close to anything but small bucks. Did have a little better buck show up on cam a couple of days ago. Might be 3 1/2 but still not what I'm looking for. Going to start hunting another property in the next week or so. Rain here for the rest of today and tomorrow but hoping to hunt a new stand by some scrapes Friday morning. Don't give up on me yet I will get it done sooner or later ;)

Well tomorrow (Thursday 10/31/13) will be my last day on the forum for a little while. Leave for our hunting trip down south tomorrow at noon and won't hardly have cell phone services let alone the internet. (No electric either). Should be a good public hunting trip. Only the second time to this place and I haven't laid eyes on a shooter down there yet, but from what I saw last year the potential is there.
Good luck to everyone else this weekend!
