Tomorrow at this time, hopefully I will be letting everyone know that I have a doe down and 50 points up for Raxx Pack. If not it'll still feel good to be out for the first time.

 

I may be interested in one of the Special Ops.... can it be used like a regular cam without the plan too?

How pricey are they?

 

Who else process their own deer?

I do it myself as well. Last year I took ground venison to the processor for sausage but this year I'm going to try smoking it myself. Anyone have any tips?

DITTO! I make my own jerkey and sausage too.. still trying to perfect it but it's a blast trying.

 

We do all except the grind.

 

I had my son Justin out on his first ever bow hunt. I set up a ground blind near a river overlooking a bean field. There was still some green leaves because it was planted late because the river flooded. He shot her at 18 yards and was high, it hit her in the spine as she went right down. He was really excited, you would have thought he shot a GIANT buck It does not matter what I shot it will never compare to watching him shoot any animals.

 

I'm hunting Wednesday night thru Sunday off and hope to have at least a doe down. Two weeks ago on that farm while hanging stands I saw 8 does, and could have shot at least two of them. I have a camera up out there and hope to check it this weekend. It would be sweet if my 200" giant shows up!!!!

Well gov't is shut down and I'm off work for the foreseeable future. Really happy with our elected representatives... Guess I'll spend some time in the woods this week.

 

This buck was shot on one of the new Monster Raxx food plot blends The live weight was just over 300 pounds and they believe the buck to be 6 or 7 years old
