What would you guys guess for age on that eleven pointer? With the swayed back and overall size in putting him at about 4 1/2. His angle in the pic is hard get a great feel for body size but he looks big.

I totally agree, just depends on a persons property, experience and what makes them happy. I've been locked in on that 130+ mindset the last few years, unfortunately it is the makings for tag soup some years.

Definitely 4 1/2... tough to argue that he's any younger.

Last year I only had one chance at a 130 class buck ... it's not as easy as it looks on TV. You need to put in a lot of time; even in the right spots. If you watch the hunting shows it's often ... "this is day 8 of a 9 day hunt" etc...

    8 days in a row! WOW! I am happy for a 3 or 4 day weekend. :)

Long story short: be happy you get to hunt when you do, and hunt for you. :). Lady luck will take care of the rest.

So who out there is a weather addict?

3 to 5 days out from hunting and I'm checking weather... Anyone else hate (and love) weather.com. It always is changing that far out, but if it's what you want to see then you somehow believe it! This weekend looks good; I just need a hint of west in the wind and I'll be good to go.

Also I always check usprimetimes.com. New Moon = Awesome hunting! Can't wait!

I check three websites and compare. In thus order.
    1. Weather underground.
    2. Accuweather
    3. Weather.com

Weather underground has proven to me time and time again to be the most reliable.

I've been looking ahead to the weekend of the 22nd already! It's supposed to be in the mid 30s at night. I also am hooked on scoutlookweather.com. That's a great site cuz it has arial photos and a deer log. That and of course weather.com is great.

You gotta love the first snowfall of the year! Two years ago it was Oct 9th or something like that. It was awesome!

I'm gonna split my time between two properties. I'd like to get a doe off of one and...fingers crossed...one of two hit listers off the other. That being said all I want is a nice quiet day in the woods again, everything else is gravy!

Goal is definitely Doe down. I am hunting 3 mornings and 3 evenings. With a new moon I gotta have at least some action at my spots!

I am spending most of the time in Minnesota but Monday Evening I am hunting with my cameraman in Pepin! The spot is our first time in and we got pics in August "uncle buck" there. BOWHUNTORDIE!

    What about you BJE?

Taking the kids to the football game Saturday morning and don't really have time to get in a morning hunt. I'll be on stand Saturday evening and once for sure on Sunday. Early season is always a crap shoot on our properties, usually see lots of does but not many buck sightings. Hoping to get a crack at a doe, who knows maybe I'll get lucky and see a good buck.
