Did the last camera check before the opener today and was very happy to see that a nice 11 point has showed up. He might make it to the top of the list. A nice 8 that I've been getting some pics of as well stopped by. Both of these pics are 12 yards from stand....

Any ideas for names for the eleven pointer. I was thinking something like picket fences because of how neat and tight the tines are.

Well it cooled down this weekend with a low of about 52, it was great! So I was definately planning on hunting but... due to important church obligations it was impossible, and to make things worse. As I pull in to my driveway two awesome shooter bucks were just making their way from the field were I was planning on hunting that day!! But that just got me more pumped so I cant wait to get out in the stand and getting a shot at one.

Your just earning those browny points from the man upstairs that you can redeem later in the season! ;)

Kind of a bummer card pull this weekend. This was the only buck picture I got. But I did get a ton of does and fawns.

I am awake. I just can't wait any longer! Only a few more days! I have TAPATALK on my phone so I will definitely keep an update going on Saturday morning/evening!

    Should be a good year!

I've seen a couple more decent bucks, a few on camera and I've got one that's pushing 160 that I'm specifically going after. Just hung a new stand at a different piece of property that has produced many huge Boone and Crockett bucks. Awesome man, when does season begin up there?

Our season opens Saturday here also, can't wait to get out. Things have been so darn busy I haven't had too much time to think about it or prep but after last weekend I should be able to turn my attention to hunting.

I did check cameras on my place this weekend and have a couple decent bucks but nothing of any significant size, just one borderline shooter. To me a shooter is generally 130 or bigger but this year I may have to lower my standards.

All the pics I got of him are all within 15 minutes of shooting light in the morning. This is a new property and EVERY buck pic (about 6 different bucks) is in the morning between 5 and 7am. They are hitting a corn field at night to the north and working there way south back to the bedding area 15 yards from my set. All I need is a west wind Saturday and a little luck from above!
