low pressure system moving through, clear and cool tomorrow morning....blood is in the forecast! i saw a basket 8 dogging a doe at 2:47pm today deer should be moving!
Just got settled in a new spot tonight. Didn't see anything last night, but I found a nice fresh rub near the spot I'm at today. Good luck to anybody else out there this weekend!

Hunted a sweet public land spot tonight about a mile hike from the nearest trail. It was at the bottom of three drainages that led to a cut corn field. Pretty slow until about 30 minutes before shooting light. I had a big bodied deer work up a ridge about a 100 yards away. Figured it was a buck so I gave it a soft grunt and he stopped but then kept moving. It looked like he was trying to work around me to get my wind. Well...shooting light was gone so I got down and was packing up my climber and I hear a crunch behind me and there he was 30 yards away. He was about a 120 eight that I probably would have shot on public land. Oh we'll...ill get him next time!
No luck for me this weekend but my buddy on team 21 shot a really nice one on my place. He was going to double check the score but it came in just over 143". He, my son and I were hunting Saturday morning spread across the farm. From the stand we saw a total of 1 deer combined, the buck he took. When I got down I saw a smaller buck and 2 does as I walked out. My place is pretty thin on deer BUT it is thick with bucks. Yesterday morning I took my B-I-L out to turkey hunt out there and saw 5 bucks from the ground 2 of them shooters, 1 of them was a stud. I'll be ramping up my hunting from here forward, looks like a front moving through midweek I'll try to take advantage of. Here is his buck.
Great buck! We had a fantastic hunt on Saturday morning... we saw 3 bucks, 2 shooters, and had a 130's 8 point at 22 yards - just couldn't close the deal! Good luck to everyone hunting this week. I'll be out on Friday afternoon... hunting for the week! BHOD!

I've sat probably a dozen times with bow and and muzzleloader for last weekend, and only seen one shooter buck, definitely think were in the lull. With this slow activity, I'm starting to consider harvesting my doe! haha From reading around it should start to get better gradually, so I might get out and try it some more in a day or two. Keep the points coming guys!
Begged for the morning off Friday to hunt that front moving into Wisconsin and bought a little time. I can only sit til 9:15 but that's better than nothing! Ill be in the stand all weekend after that though and I have off the 1st til the 4th to take care of business!

Looks like I'm going to get to hunt Thursday-Sunday with a mix of morning and evening hunts. Hopefully a little AIS, a$$ in stand, does the job this weekend. Good luck everyone!
Well I have yet to sit in my best spot because I have been waiting for a little rutting action before I put any pressure on it. It's only 14 acres so I want to be careful. I went in there today to make a mock scrape, so I can hunt it over the weekend. It sure was nice to see a lot of deer sign and a few nice fresh rubs. Can't wait to get in there this weekend! Is it Friday yet!?
Good plan bwebb, that is what we did with the south end of my place and my buddy cashed in last weekend on that. That area had only been touched once since April and produced a big buck outside of the rut. Good luck!
