Beautiful sunrise for opening day in mass. Unfortunately I'm on my way to school, not the stand. Maybe I can get out Wednesday afternoon if I'm lucky, but if not i'll definitely be giving it a go this weekend.

    Good luck MA boys!

I ended up not hunting this weekend, woke up to pouring rain Saturday morning and decided to cozy up against my wife and sleep in a bit. Later that morning I went down and did end up working on one setup and got that prepped for the rut. I also pulled cameras that I had put up in an area of the farm that we seldom enter, after looking at the pictures I know why. Out of 4 cameras running for 3 weeks I only had 3-4 small bucks a few does and probably 50 pictures of coyotes.

The next couple weeks I won't be hunting much, probably once this coming weekend and then start hitting it hard from the 27th on!

Hey Team - it's been a while since we have posted on our page. It's definitely the October LULL!!! But, front moved through today/tonight and I'm back in the tree for a quick hunt tonight in Wisconsin. I bought another doe tag (already used two) but I am thinking I'll be holding out for a buck. Good luck!

    Good luck Neal.

The patterns are definitely changing, I watch deer everyday on my way to work and the last few mornings I'm only seeing a couple instead of a couple dozen. Looks to me it is starting! By the end of next week the prerut should be kicking in.

All set up for my first sit in mass. I'm right at the base of a ridge that separates a row of houses and a big swamp. I can hear construction workers behind me at one of the houses, but hopefully the deer are used to that.

Well....looks like my evening hunt is scrapped. Steady line of showers ended those thoughts. Good news is the extended forecast calls for a major cold front for the weekend before Halloween. Lows in the low twenties! Perfect timing!

Well I had 2 does feeding around me for about an hour. The only shot they presented was perfect broadside at 20 yards but it was uphill with houses on the other side and they were tiny does, so I decided not to risk it. Hopefully I'll get another chance this weekend.

Update from yesterday... SLOW. We saw 2 does at 300 yards and that was it. We can see 500+ on both sides of a cut corn field and hay field. Incredibly slow?

    October Lull? Bring on Halloween!

Never give up right... we are out tomorrow morning. I'm filming, but it should be a good morning. Good luck to all hunting this weekend. Stay Safe.
