Gonna give it a go this week, with a front coming through tomorrow night I'm going to try to get out and sit tomorrow afternoon. I'll also be out on Friday evening and Saturday morning as the temps are going to drop into the low 30s overnight. This morning the field across the street from my office was covered up with deer, had to be 30+ deer out there feeding on the beans. Too bad we don't have urban hunting here.
Cold Front should be awesome this weekend - hopefully I can sneak out for 1 or 2 hunts. I'm filming on Thursday evening in Pepin - we will shoot a buck; I can feel it. Then hunting the metro this weekend, maybe for a doe! When do you guys hunt a cold front usually? I like the first day it hits (Thursday), but the whole weekend should be good! Notice the change for Thursday! - They will move!
I've always had the best luck right before the front comes through, seems like everything is up and moving. Otherwise as soon as possible after the front clears the area.

Can't wait for the cold front this weekend! I hunted my two properties hard the first week of the season and layed off both of them for the last 10 days. Temps in the high 20's and the leaves are a changin, it's officially deer season!

How is everyone else doing? Anyone seeing any good bucks? We keep this doe mission up we are definitely going to have a chance to win this thing. More does the better! I'm going to be hunting Saturday morning - hopefully find a minnesota metro giant buck!

Yeah it's hard to not get excited. BUT, It is October 5,6 and it's youth gun hunting weekend... I'm saving a little bit of the enthusiasm for October 26-31! You can't kill them if you aren't out there! Good Luck everyone stay safe!
Seems to be a lot of good bucks dropping earlier this year. I've never shot a buck before November 4th...maybe that will change this year! . I'm just gonna hunt some perimeter spots and not get too deep in the woods yet.
Just came back from lunch and the deer are still in the fields, definitely a major cold front moving through. I didn't go out yesterday as the front wasn't going to hit until this morning. Last night it was still in the 70s at 8:30, right now it's 53 degrees and not going to get much warmer. Really wish I could get out tonight but going to have to wait until tomorrow afternoon. I like the chances of some good deer hitting the ground this weekend all over the midwest.
